smh...only because I'm dumb. I had traditional braces a few years ago. Rocked em' for a year, got em' off in August '14. Everything was Gucci til about 6 months ago when I lost my retainer. So...my ortho came up with the idea to rock this 10 week Invisalign joint. You get 5 trays and just replace them every two weeks...then at the end they make you a new retainer...the type that goes over the teeth. Cool. I'm with it. Thank goodness for dental insurance. Man...I woke up this morning HURTING! These joints are comparable to how it felt when I went in for adjustments...only they're wild annoying to wear. Feels like I have in a football mouthpiece...all the time. I might have gone insane if I had gotten these for the full-time joints. People say these are better. I'm gonna have to say naw. I had no issues with the wear and feel of the traditional ones. Ugh.

Got braces off a few years ago. I wore the retainer pretty diligently, but my chompers still want to do their own thing. I'm okay with some crookedness. It's just that my bite is off and it is a little uncomfortable.
Don't want to go back to regular braces because I refuse to look like I'm 13 again. So I'm looking into Invisalign

about my age, plays xbox, talks shit about sports, graduated from Indiana. I swear he could be an OKP. He had my joints RIGHT after I got my braces off. I lost the retainer and instead of hitting him up immediately, I waited like a month to make sure they didn't turn up...ANYWHERE. In that time, I developed wack little spaces. My joints are still straight, but those tiny spaces don't sit right with me considering all the time I rocked the metal face. He drove the shit outta me when I finally told him I lost the retainer.

but, mine don't slip. They bonded little tiny notches on to like 3 teeth at the top and three at the bottom...when you put the trays in, they "click" onto the notches. They're actually pretty damn hard to take off, when you want them off.

it's better than traditional braces because of the extra cost, and I think they take longer than regular braces. Although Invisalign was the best choice for me because I have an implant, and it worked around the implant better than traditional braces can, supposedly. My overall issue wasn't major -- just a slight underbite to where my front teeth on top and bottom met each other (the front teeth are supposed to go in front, not be even).
I think you'll get used to the trays pretty fast regarding the pain. At least I did after a few weeks. But my orthodontist also said my teeth were very easily moved. Some people's take longer to move.
That's nice that your insurance covered it. I used a flex spending account to save the tax.

8. "so after six months your teeth moved THAT much to go round two??" In response to Reply # 0
i had adult braces- (traditional) a few years ago. i have a permanent retainer behind my teeth, and i still wear a another retainer at night. I slack a few days but generally i'm pretty good
number1- THAT SHIT FUCKING HURT. that i cant imagine going through that again intentionally.
number2- how much movement do you think you had that you needed to drop dough on invisilign? <-- you might have got got....

the lil annoying spaces that opened up. Luckily, because I'm just doing the 10 week deal, it was cheap as shit and insurance pretty much wiped it out. But yeah, after 6 months with no retainer, I could definitely see it.

13. "your original ortho didn't push for a permanent retainer??" In response to Reply # 10
well either way....
make sure you brush at night and wear that retainer kid.....
but let me back up and say.... the permanent shit does kinda suck... its a constant pressure. im so use to it, but its always noticeable. not for the weak.
