i mean it's not as bad as inviting the presidents of various HBCUs to the white house and then ignoring their concerns, while making sure you get a picture with 'the blacks' so no one can call you racist. But still... people can legitimately make fun when you show up 'out of the goodness of your heart' with a camera crew at the ready to document how charitable and caring you are.

I think the Trump peeps are just better at selling/highlighting the "1st lady reads to sick kids" kind of thing, as they are with other simple PR things in general, that they know the public will eat up. Trump with black people, Trump with Military people. I could be talking out of my ass on this one though. i only know about it because of this post.

Reading a Dr. Suess book and not showing the pictures? It's like she's just reading it to herself. How can you be a parent and be oblivious to this? No one gave her some quick tips beforehand either, like "just do X,Y, and Z, and you can't screw this up"?
Kudos for reading to sick children, but this is just another thing making it painfully obvious how unprepared and incompetent these people are.
