After the fallout with Comedy Central he's been paranoid, aloof & cryptic
and all of it seems self-inflicted like he cant get out of his own way

His live show became whimsical, undisciplined & self indulgent too
Never seen a comedian of his calibur have so many awkward moments onstage

Chappelles talented without question
but he's definitely not in the class of Pryor, Cosby, Rock or Murphy

He was the king of comedy at one point because of his tv show & not because of his standup comedy

He doesnt have one comedy special or album thats a landmark
Killing'Em Softly is probably his best work but it had zero impact

His legend has grown competley off of being enigmatic instead of being prolific with brilliance

There may still be time to edit. Chappelle is that dude. His live shows have been great and he is able to do more freelancing than he ever could while on Comedy Central. He is very much still at the height of his powers. He is easily in the Top 5.
