I'm conflicted about this behavior around cops chat. while I understand why some think it should be discussed to try helping our brown kids, but folks have been compliant and still end up being shot.
seems like the onlys common denominator is the brown victim, but not whether the person was compliant.

I have a 12 yr old daughter and 7 year old son. we'll have to continually discuss this stuff.
at the same time that I'm thinking of their futures, I have to be concerned with myself. If something goes awry, I could be a victim today!
with that said, I just don't feel like the talks about how to behave in the presence of cops is helpful in the sense of stopping a cop from pulling a trigger. that decision rests with the cop. I know the idea is to de-escalate the situation and not contribute to making things worse, but so many folks have been shot while putting their hands up or following directions.
