Because this is like pulling the emergency brake on a highway. Doomed.
"The Heritage blueprint used as a basis for Trump’s proposed cuts calls for eliminating several programs that conservatives label corporate welfare programs: the Minority Business Development Agency, the Economic Development Administration, the International Trade Administration and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership. The total savings from cutting these four programs would amount to nearly $900 million in 2017.
At the Department of Justice, the blueprint calls for eliminating the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, Violence Against Women Grants and the Legal Services Corporation and for reducing funding for its Civil Rights and its Environment and Natural Resources divisions.
At the Department of Energy, it would roll back funding for nuclear physics and advanced scientific computing research to 2008 levels, eliminate the Office of Electricity, eliminate the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and scrap the Office of Fossil Energy, which focuses on technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Under the State Department’s jurisdiction, funding for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are candidates for elimination."

It's insane how much we spend on defense.

So they'll expand the budget for their interests, then cut revenue positive systems. Privatize these systems then make money off them. They don't hate the arts, they hate that they don't make money off the arts.

Presidents have four year terms with a two term limit. No leader can fix structural problems. Particularly ones that can be negated or worsen by those with longer terms.

19. "Can we talk about how absurd long-term Republican fiscal policy is?" In response to Reply # 0
Cutting money out of the budget for necessary programs AND pushing for extensive tax cuts for wealthy people is a great way to wreck the economy. Governments function on revenue from taxes and taking away this income has an adverse effect upon local economies.
None of these budget cuts make sense. This entire budget feels like someone put on some BOSE QC35s and ignored world history over the past 8 years. Every country that went with austerity has failed.
Name any long-term fiscal Republican policy that didn't screw America over in the long-term in the past 30 years.
