They sat right behind us and talked throughout the entire movie and the woman kept dropping N bombs. She was Latina, mind you, and my wife, while highly non-confrontational, is only so tolerant on such matters. It was a lot of talking. Through the trailers. Though the movie. And then n bomb after n bomb after n bomb.
We could hear her man trying to get her to stay quiet, bless his heart, but she wasn’t having it.
I was getting annoyed and my wife gets pissed at me whenever I confront people so I try to keep it under wraps but wonder of wonders… my wife struck first.
I honestly don’t even remember the words but my wife was basically “REALLY? YOU GONNA KEEP SAYING THAT? ARE YOU GONNA TALK THROUGH THE WHOLE MOVIE?”
The woman just let out a long “whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?” and then something else.
Eventually I got up and told her off further… but I was staring at her man while I did it. I told him she was going to get him fucked up one day and he needed to get her ass in check. He looked straight at the screen the entire time. Would not look at me once.
So we sat down but I was still pissed and my wife said fuck it, let’s just bounce.
So we hit up the manager in the lobby, told him what was what, and let him know they had alcohol, which they did. They let us see the next showing for free.
To be fair to her man he did try to get her to chill but I couldn’t exactly snap on his woman so he had to take the heat. Looking back it’s good on him that he didn’t step. Not, like, on some tough guy shit on my end, but he wisely avoided conflict. I could have had a gun or whatever and the sobering part for me is that he could have had some heat his damn self.
Next time we’ll skip the confrontation and just snitch.

If we didn’t speak or interact on any level for the next few years and you reached out with well wishes during a tough time, it would hold meaning.
In some ways that can have a greater affect than hearing from your regular circle. To me that says, hey, this person cares on some level even with a prolonged absence. It doesn't mean we're particularly close or ever will be, it just means there's *some* kind of bond in play.
OKP as a whole is like that, people can e-hate each other’s screen names all day but most of us have some sense of camaraderie if someone hits a rough patch in life or, in many cases, success.
In the end we tend to root for each other’s endeavors and show support when life hands out an ass whoopin.
I say send a well wish. Doesn’t have to go beyond that.

I went out to the local drankin' spot last night. I told my friend I wasn't driving, so go without me. (I'm tired of always being a cab driver for the crew), so she broke down and scooped ya boy up. When we got there, I Didn't buy NANN drank for the "i'm cute, so buy me a drank" contingent. I used to do that for my female friends here or there, or any young lady that had a good rap, but then they started expecting it. I bought my driver ONE round ( that's only fair, right?).
I ignored a couple of folks who were talking goofy shit. No more random small talk for the sake of it. DAMN it felt good to just be left alone, chillin'. I listened to my favorite DJ throw some heat, and then my homegirl dropped me off at home.

Yeah it became her dream school. Her reality school is gonna be the one that comes through with the best package. As of now, that appears to be Loyola of Maryland. Still waiting on VCU. And she's got a couple more apps to submit. Can't wait til this is decided.

I'm hopeful your daughter and your pockets get that full ride out of them. That would be a tremendously awesome accomplishment. One of my daughter's good friends is going there.
My lil lady ain't tryna hear me when I say to her that Loyola may be the best bet because their endowment fund is larger and they will have the capability to offer more. A good brother, fellow OKP, has offered to communicate with her (us) on the merits and demerits of Loyola. I'm planning to take him up on that offer.
I'd love for her to get a nice package from her "dream" school but I'm looking to help her mitigate the risk of being assed out if Spelman don't act right. VCU needs to hurry up with that acceptance and award letter. I actually think they are her second choice behind Spelman because it's some hours from home. Loyola is in our backyard.

-I bought some already boiled shell-less eggs from Walmart last week and put two in the microwave. I usually put them in for 20 seconds to take the chill off because i dont like eating cold eggs. Well this time i left them in for a minute and as i bit into it, yolk exploded in my mouth and all over my shirt. Left a blister inside my mouth for a day. Lesson learned.
-Was on the phone last night with my homegirl and as she was walking around the house, she walked in the garage on her 50 something year old cousin, whose staying with her, getting it in with some girl. In her damn garage with the lights off. Apparently dude has been letting chicks in through her garage for a while now. She was pissed and walked back out without saying anything. i had to laugh. Needless to say she's kicking his asz out.
-I get jealous over people over people my age that i know that have been able to retire already. Ive known 3 of my friends over the last year that have been able to retire from the law enforcement field after putting in their 20 or 25 years. 2 of them started when they were 18. Im looking at least 10 years more of work and these people are already collecting a pension. Good for them but im still jealous.
