My Andis just died and I would like to support Bevel, but I want to make sure I will still get a crisp line. Any users here? Feedback would be greatly appreciated

As a barber, I'd recommend not spending that much on an edger.

How do you know your Andis died? I've had one of mine for over 20 years, still going strong.

Look into the wahl hero, and get the t-wide blade. Or, the Wahl detailer.

Andis T-edger is good, but there are better/cheaper options.

but I believe the products were similarly high-priced (I'm trying to be positive and not say over-priced) well before Nas got in the picture to endorse/support Bevel. For some reason, I think Carmelo Anthony is involved with Bevel as well in terms of investing in the company, but I could be wrong.

I'd actually get one to support. But at that price, without even knowing how long it would take to ship, and the fact that on youtube reviews it looks like it isn't hanging with the Andis joint, I can't do it.

It would be great to have a cordless trimmer that could actually line up as nice as the T-Outliner.

only get bumps if I cut in the wrong direction. the key is to cut with the grain. going against the grain = angry scalp.

that's actually the only downside. I can't get cheaper blades that'll fit.

for me, the blade doesn't matter on my scalp. as long as I cut the right way, no bumps.

if diff for my face though. I'll get a few bumps if I blade my face, so I try to never shave my face with a razor.

To the people who are getting razor bumps, are you...

- shaving AFTER a hot shower? Or at least using a hot towel on your head to open up the pores.
- shaving WITH the grain. Like are you shaving the same direction you'd brush your hair? If not, you should be.
- Tossing out blades after the 2nd shave.

These are basic things. If you're not doing these, especially shaving w/ the grain, you're going to get bumps.

cuz I hear you on the price of the Bevel joint, but Andis got some joints that get right up around 2 bills, as well. Not trying to be #actuallyguy...legit just wondering if we're comparing apples to apples. My barber copped a some Andis Masters while we were hangin, one day and they were like $170 before his lil barber's discount.

a trimmer. Specifically the Andis T-Outliner. There are a lot of other Andis trimmer models but they all cost around $60 or less. The Andis Masters you're talking about aren't trimmers (used for your lineup or for some people, shaving) but full clippers for the haircut itself. They are adjustable so you can do blends for fades. $170 is really expensive even for the Masterthough, unless it's an overpriced special edition. You can get the Master for around $100.

Truth. I copped some masters to cut my sons hair for about $86. They are now up to the $100 mark as stated. Dope clippers btw.

i'm white. i have a thick beard. i've been using the cheap norelco/panasonic "grooming kits" for years now and have never been satisfied with them. trim is uneven, charge is bad, guards are imprecise, etc. i've always heard and read good things about andis but i don't want to spend $ on the high end models or waste $ on a low end model that could end up working about as well as the cheap kits i've been buying

thanks in advance

The Andis T-Outliner is the industry standard trimmer and its less than $60.

Andis T-Outliner Trimmer with T-Blade, Gray (04710) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000143C0K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FNKzybRXXGG8K

You would use it for lining up you beard and shaving the hair on your neck and face outside of the beard. But you wouldn't use it for cutting down the beard itself to even it out. For that you'd need a regular clipper. Don't waste time and money on a kit or clipper that claims to do both - it won't do either well.

There's a lot of different options for regular adjustable clippers. I have the Andis Master and the Oster Classic 76, but I'm also using those for haircuts. The Wahl Seniors are the other industry standards for those. But you would be fine with something like the Andis Fade:

Andis Fade Clipper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008YFG2HS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_URKzybV8VV440

Or the Wahl 5 Star:

Wahl Professional 5-Star Balding Clipper #8110 - Great for Barbers and Stylists - Cuts Surgically Close for Full Head Balding - Twice the Speed of Pivot Motor Clippers - Accessories Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VVT94G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5SKzybTPN98GA

These are clippers that you can use with guards depending on the length of your beard.

Actually while looking in Amazon I saw this double pack which would be perfect for you. For $85 it includes the Andis T Outliner and a nice adjustable clipper with it:

ANDIS Professional Barber Combo CL-66325 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008YKNLWM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_9UKzybT0Z96AY

it's sharp enough to do edge ups, but also has guards so that you can cut down the beard, too. You can get it for under $30. I line up my beard with it and occasionally cut it down just to keep it even and take off any split ends to make sure it keeps growing.

been using a gillette fusion for years now, usually just to keep things trim in between trips to the barber once a month but thinking of making the switch to an electric trimmer.

just wondering, pros/cons of switching from a manual razor to this?
