"DROkayplayers: on wax and vaping"

My girl gave me an early Christmas gift today. It was a Puffco Plus vape and some wax to go with it.

First I never knew how smooth and clean vaping was. Shit is so good. The pulls never burn.

And this was my first time doing wax and holy shit was I fucked up. This shit is dangerous to be honest. Fuck.

DROkayplayers do you vape? Do you smoke/vape wax?

This shit is gonna be a once every other weekend type of deal.

Also Happy Holidays!!!

ill occasionally get some really good flowers, because i enjoy smoking joints but thats maybe once a year

it changed my life, TBH

eliminating that burning plant matter from my lungs really helped in the atheletic areas, i noticed within a few months my lungs felt amazing when I would ride my mountain bike or play soccer

theres definitely downsides though so its not for everyone ,
theres not many pens that I really like for straight up wax(they can be very inefficient) so I dont really take it with me when I go places

the counter to that is the wax I get is amazing so unless im just really chilling(like playing video games) a dab during the day time is good enough for me and then maybe again at night.

due to the various extraction processes that are involved so theres alot of factors that come into play

think of wax as the best hash youve ever smoked, essentially a chemical/industrial type process to "extract" the good part (the oil, thc and other compounds) AWAY from the plant matter

which is all hash is essentially, but hash just happened naturally out in the fields, youd be covered in oil then would scrape it off your body and your tools

then they figured out you can shake the plants and seperate the oil/crystals from the plant

then they figured out you can dunk the plant in ice water to help seperate the plant matter

then they figured out theres a chemical process you can use so its kinda evolved

so theres all kinds of things that effect the wax

first the strain of course, not for just the effects but for the terpenes and the amount of oil they produce(terpenes are essentially flavor)

then is it being made from clippings? uncured plant? buds? uncured buds?

all that will effect the wax, some people prefer certain kinds over others

then you have the process, (BHO, CO2, etc...) then during the process the way they seperate the oil from the chemical or whatever is being used greatly effects it, most importantly is the the temperature control

think of it like grilling meat, slow and low vs high and fast can effect the color, the flavor etc...

the last part is the part im the most unfamiliar with because Ive never made it before but I believe the slower and more controlled temperature change during the production effects the color, the consistency, flavor and potency

i'm curious about it but it seems like an investment and the chemical aspect of it makes me a bit cautious.

i know practically all of the butane or co2 burns off but...i'm slightly ignorant to the numbers involved

i trust flowers mainly bc i trust my vendor lol but i don't trust them as much on the oil yet

Tolerance blown - if you smoke enough wax and dont smoke flowers the next time you smoke flowers almost no matter how good it is it will taste like the grass from your front lawn

took me a while before i got my "taste" back for flowers

not as portable (unless you got the pens) and a bit more "advanced" equipment

and like you mention, you want to trust the extraction process

Wax with a proper nail piece is definitely the heaviest high. For me it's almost too heavy to be more than a once-in-a-while thing. Vaping wax is milder but be very demanding about the quality, strain, etc. There is some junk out there. Prime Extractions is awesome stuff.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

blackberry kush so far has been great. one dose and i'm set for a couple of hours, two doses and i'm rethinking everything mistake throughout my life, but after 30-40 mins i'm level.

dry herb vapes are cool too, but you gotta make sure to clean them often or they stop hitting very quickly.

they use similar stuff like in the ecigs for tabacco, glycerol and what not

the pure co2 extracts with no additives are very nice

and it is awesome. It's a little pricy but I had mad gift cards so I said why not. The Pax 3 has an oven for wax too but I've only been using it for flowers. Wax is cool but harder to come by out here in VA, I mean I can get it but it's mostly home made and I don't know what people are putting in there so I'd rather just wait til I'm in states like Cali or Colorado and indulge there.

My biggest reason for getting the vape was to take it easy on my lungs and so far only a week of use and I feel better already.

I'll let you know what the wax oven is like on this Pax 3 after I hit Cali in February while I'm touring.

it is a much better vape than the Pax 2.

The only thing the Pax 2 has over it is the stealthiness. If that's not an issue than the Solo 2 is the move.

Tastier vapor. More vapor. Easier to clean. Hands down better vape.

I own both. Had the Pax 2 much longer and wish I had made the switch earlier.

i've done some research and the puffco plus is the frontrunner, with the dr. dabber aurora a distant second, and i'm probably not going to buy something with the words "dr. dabber" on it

related: is it the worst idea to go from completely sober straight to concentrates? it's been about 11 months since i last got high. my understanding is that vaped wax highs can be more mild than flowers but still feels like going from 0-100 when i maybe need to hit 45 or 50 first

thanks in advance

i've known people who got batches that were made with flowers that were high in pesticides. Pesticides concentrate at a much higher rate than THC (don't quote me but like 25x faster i think). Basically my dude ended up smoking poison oil and his hands and feet started tingling and all the skin started peeling off after a day or so... wild shit.

all that to say - it's cool, but try to get whatever you get from a trusted shop who works w/known trusted suppliers.

Strictly flower vaping for me. No wax. Dabs. nah not my thing.

I've had the Pax 2 for a couple of years. I prefer vaping over a J or blunt.

Last month I picked up the Arizer Solo 2...it is so much better than the Pax 2. I wish I had gotten it way sooner. Easy to clean. Flavorful hits. A good amount of vapor production.

A couple of weeks ago I picked up the dynavap M - sandblasted version. I definitely recommend it as an entry vape for folks. It is cheap and the hits really get you baked. The only downside is that you need a torch lighter for it. I'm picking up an induction heater soon and then I will be all set. It is also very simple to clean.

But yeah...I'm a big proponent on vaping over combusting.

And with jersey on the road towards legalization, I really wanna dip my toe in the industry and get a canna job. There is so much money to be made.

my best friend lives in Piscatway though so I would likely crash with her for a bit to get a feel for the opportunities.

I honestly wouldn't mind trimming first for awhile. I did a little bit of that while I was living in LA.

Edit: also if you're not up on it yet....checkout the vaporents subreddit...that's how I found out about the Solo 2 and Vapcap M.
