Like I remember the summer of around 1994 smoking dope in my friend's basement and listening to this underground rapper's 'Resurrection' from chicago who didn't even sniff a billboard chart. To think that 20 years later he would be the president's favorite rapper and a movie star. Weird.

Right after the video debuted (IIRC on Rap City), I walked my ass across 12 mile over to Harmony House and copped the maxi single for "Take It EZ". I stayed trying to put cats up on Common back then.
