Like I remember the summer of around 1994 smoking dope in my friend's basement and listening to this underground rapper's 'Resurrection' from chicago who didn't even sniff a billboard chart. To think that 20 years later he would be the president's favorite rapper and a movie star. Weird.

Right after the video debuted (IIRC on Rap City), I walked my ass across 12 mile over to Harmony House and copped the maxi single for "Take It EZ". I stayed trying to put cats up on Common back then.

After they eat together Anthony focuses on Willie Clarke and Deep City Records. Tell me Quest didn't put him onto that eh? Who else could get Deep City on that many eyes and ears?

I know most of us first heard about OKP during the TFA/neo soul era
but back then they weren't as large as they are now
I mean winning a grammy =/= national TV late night every night right?
