Why are people floating around a 66 percent of white women statistic that is empirically incorrect?

And if this vote swung on white women...does that mean it was white women who voted in Obama?

This particular form of finger-pointing and chest-puffing is disgusting.

Why don't we fan the flames of hatred and add 13 points to the male latino vote too? The post shall read '56% of male latinos voted Trump'.

The reactionary impulse is so strong she'll probably be disappointed when she finds out the most important statistic behind her argument is wrong.

We take our L's when it happens, a la the black people helped push Prop 8 in Cali.

Trump winning these minority groups that were un-winable to even to GOP analysts is something to look at.

53% is the same support that Romney got from white women. So there was no shift in the white women vote.

So where was the shift? White men. So can we get back to bashing white men please? lol

We might as well get our facts straight if we want to look at this from race and gender. Glancing over the exit polls it would appear that there was a small shift of black people towards the GOP, a slightly larger shift of latinos toward the GOP. But the largest shift was white men. Women appear to be a wash for the most part.

and yell at Miss Universes for being miss piggy. Those stats are NUTS considering everyone on both sides said that Trump had completely alienated those voters.

Is it because the Romney number are hardcore repubs that vote that way no matter what?

Is it because of the crux of the post, etc

This is the problem. Did anyone actually go to these swing states and hit the ground and ask these Trump voters if they were alienated?

Seems like most people who didn't like Trump made that shit up and ran with it.

No one gives a shit about Trump calling a beauty pageant fat (they hear that shit all the time, it's a competition based on looks) when the other person is being investigated by the FBI.

Where are the think pieces on latinos and black people voting Trump? How many debates did we have about this? Who here is not shocked that 33% of latino males voted Trump? There's not a single person on this board that predicted that. Why is noone addressing that?

If you rewind 6 months ago....SURELY a 33% of latino male figure would be more surprising to us than a 53% share of white women.

Here's what will really blow minds....Trump made MORE ground with black and latino voters than he did with whites proportionally. Here's a graph:

We kept saying there was no way possible minorities would vote for Trump in numbers that would get him elected.

Shit is baffling.

I have a coworker who is old, Black, swears he is pro Black and likes Trump. He is one of those "what about Black on Black crime" when BLM hit the news. I always knew Black church folk were conservative but I failed to see the star power Trump had with our demo.

As far as latinos go. I have no idea but I know some of them want to be red blooded Americans so bad they must have Sherrif Clark'd it once in the voting booth

...Trump allegedly managed to get a substantial amount of people voting for him that never voted before on the strength of (quote) "saying what they were thinking". Those voters can't all be men, can they?

Thus, it is likely that the new female voters who were attracted to the bigotry covered up for all the votes lost due to the sexism so the point still stands, no?

But voter turnout was low. Lowest since 2004. So the 'first-time' voter thing might not have the substance many of us thought.

Or, more correctly, a lot of women have always had issues with her because she comes off as the stereotypical first-wave, ambitious and domineering feminist type of woman.

White women have had "mommy wars"over whether being in the workforce or raising children was the best use of their talents... and, fair or unfair, Hillary has been the archetype of the careerist kind of woman that turns many other women off.

so on the one hand the original post title is correct
but folks are confusing all white women as being feminists

alot like southern racists
and (trump) northern racists

similarities

but as you can see with this election major differences

those women? middle class? middle of the road?
we are talking about women who were trained to get married and stay married and cater to their husbands

they detest any woman contrary to that ideal they were raised on
and most esp women in power
and uber cant stand hillary clinton

I've been disturbed by the racist, reactionary leftist response that would see the democratic party eat itself from the inside. Blaming white feminists for Trump's election is ridiculous....is this judgement day for the left? Cause we're seeing a lot of revealing.

I didn't think people were blaming feminist for voting for trump. I thought they were blaming white feminist for being lazy and taking the white women vote for granted.

I don't think it's racist. Its normal to blame different groups when you lose an election

Edit: yeah, I see what you are saying. I wasn't really making my assumption based on the OP. More so on what we have been saying on okp.

I am skeptical that a big portion of those women describe themselves as feminist.

So if a woman takes advantage of affirmative action and other initiatives to advance minorities and the underrepresented but then also voted for trump...fcuk them.

53% of white women voted for trump. I would suspect that very few of them are self-described feminists just as I'd suspect very few of the 16% of black Trump voters are supporters of BLM. But the author does not agree with us...she's setting her aim on white FEMINISTS.

What the author in the OP is doing is essentially the same as saying 29% of male BLM supporters voted for Trump. Because firstly, her number is wrong (she added 13 points)....and secondly, she would be assuming that all Black people are BLM supporters.

Feminism is an idealogy, not a gender. I'd bet the house that less than a percentage point of white feminists voted for Trump. And if that's true...then this article is nothing but needless divisiveness and an example of how the left can self-destruct in the wake of this election.
