Comic Dave Chappelle is set to make his Saturday Night Live debut as host of the November 12 show — the first one after Election Day. A Tribe Called Quest, which is releasing its first album since 1998 the day before, will be the musical guest on NBC’s late-night stalwart.

Chappelle is a veteran stand-up comic and actor who from 2003-2006 created and starred in the popular and influential Comedy Central sketch series Chappelle’s Show. He made his big-screen debut in Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men In Tights and went on to co-write and star in the 1998 stoner classic Half-Baked. He also produced and starred in the Michel Gondry-helmed docu Dave Chappelle’s Block Party.
Created and produced by Lorne Michael, SNL has been getting plenty of comic fodder from the wacky presidential election. Among its most popular recent bits are the recent Donald Trump-Hillary Clinton debate spoofs starring Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon. The Saturday Night Live Primetime Election Special will air November 7, the day before America votes.

It's about time for another stand up special
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
I don't trust those new head writers or how they had to get two lame White dudes to make other cast members look funnier but Dave is funnier than all them, he'll make it work.

Based on the dope ass promo, it seems they changed things up at SNL and that excited me as a steady fan of SNL for a long time – even managed to be an intern there for a minute.
The premise is Trump and Obama’s transition meeting at the White House.
Darrell Hammond (or whoever the show’s going to go with to be Trump going forward because I don’t see Alec being Trump full time) enters as Trump with Cecily Strong as Melania. Crowd reaction is mixed because Darrell’s good, but people loved Alec Baldwin. Trump is telling Melania all the things he would do, while Melania suggests she’ll grow a garden and get a bicep machine - whatever Michelle did. A few more laughs.
Sasheer enters as Michelle and Melania mimics everything she does. Michelle picks up on it. Melania says “I will follow. If you go low I will go high.” Michelle rolls her eyes and tells Donald “Barack will see you now, head in your new office.” (it literally pained me to write "your new office")
Donald heads in and starts talking a little shit. When it’s time for Obama to speak, the reveal is that it’s Jordan Peele as Obama. Crowd goes nuts. It’s also good on another level because I like Key and Peele and the idea that Chappelle has beef with them would be squashed through this dope ass sketch.
Obama speaks civilly, but Luther his anger translator pops out and says the shit Obama wishes he could say. Crowd goes nuts for Keegan.
Trump says “I see how we’re playing this” enter Alec Baldwin as Angry Trump. Crowd goes nuts again. Also it eases Alec out of that role.
Along the way, Hillary is seen in the office window looking in. Obama says she’s been there the last couple days, but he hasn’t had the heart to send her away. He decides to let her in if she promises to be quiet. Kate goes through a few "I don't believe it"s. Donald asks a few basic questions like "so what does the president do?" Kate gets more and more frustrated. At some point, she refers to it as 9/election (but in NYC, maybe not, I find it to be a funny line)
They go back and forth til LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!!
