"Poll question: When you get in an uber/lyft do they offer to change their music? "
Tue Oct-25-16 01:56 PM by blkprinceMD05

I ride uber a lot, uberX/pool. And I think in all my years and rides maybe 5 ppl have asked to change the music: a couple of younger Black chicks, two older smooth jazz type Black dudes and young White dude.

Now I don't mind at all but I just wonder if these same drivers are turning the future off when they see an older suited and booted White guy or even an older suited and booted Black guy or older women.

I wouldn't be comfortable exposing a client to all that, especially when the riders rating can fuck up my money

Ok a young Black chick just got in the car with me (pool) and he didn't offer to change for her either. 'Maybe cause we both Black, maybe he just dgaf.

My gospel music could offend someone just as much as my blasting "Percocets & Strippers" could. Plus, as you said, I wanted them ratings and that bread. I'm sure being that client-oriented is what put me in the position to get them nice ass tips I got.

Only thing I did was turn it down if they were on the phone.

I turned the station one time when this young mothers 8 year old politely asked me to turn it to the hip hop station.

Fuck Uber tho... while it's a nice way to make a few coins its not worth it. Got tired of driving those people around. I wish they had a Black Uber or Minority Uber...

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

It's poor business sense as well.

It's a service business and if you want to generate repeat business you need to cater to your passengers.

The few times I've had to call a cab since I stopped driving, I check them on that shit.
