This is unprecedented tho. White soccer moms were outraged and made the DEA stand down. Banning kratom wouldn't have put many black men in jail so ehh why bother

... at the hippie herb/supplement shop across town. She tried it a coupla times to replace the gabapentin and tramadol doctors have her on for nerve pain but continued using the pharma stuff. She came back to it more recently when it started making the news and when it looked like it was gonna get banned last month she joked about running out to the shop, copping a few more oz and sitting on them to sell once the ban took effect.

This is GREAT news. So great that I think this might save lives.
I have a couple pounds of it in my cupboard. I've offered some free samples to a couple opiate addicts. Those particular people weren't ready to quit and aren't getting anymore lol. But I know several people who have traded in an opiate addiction for a Kratom addiction and their lives have signifantly improved because of it. Others have gotten completely clean by scaling down to Kratom for a temporary time period and then quitting the Kratom which is apparently significantly easier than any form of opiate.
I still haven't tried it because I'm worried it will be a slippery slope for me. Let's face it...it WILL be a slippery slope for me. And Kratom addiction isn't a joke in it of itself based on what I've read and heard. But it's certainly better than ANY form of opiate including (and perhaps ESPECIALLY) methadone.
Scientists need to get on this STAT. There is so much potential for profit here too....not that this should be the motivation. But in reality, profit could probably be the catalyst for widespread Kratom prescriptions for all the people suffering. If someone is ready to face their opiate addiction and do something about it....the FIRST think I would recommend is Kratom. My friend and I have published a pamphlet and are trying to distribute to to NA meetings across the city. If there's someone you love who is struggling with opiates.....I urge you to recommend they check into this.
