to support the female ego being more fragile. Maybe as fragile at best, but dudes will step out of line quick just because a woman says no to a date or ignores their cold holler. I just don't see women act in an equal way with any consistency.
On the other hand women will drive hundreds of miles wearing a diaper and fuck up a high paying job, but only after significant emotional investment. Generally speaking of course.

Women are routinely berated, assaulted and even killed because they don't respond to men (whom they don't even know) in the way men would like them to.
