Personally, I don't think it's the appropriate angle to attack and bring Trump down. There are enough justifiable and verifiable ways to point out how bad of a president and representative of the USA Trump would be.
To hinge her takedown of the Trump campaign on this angle is rather shortsighted IMO. There are PLENTY PLENTY PLENTY of Americans and Foreign powers that might actually support a Trump presidency for this very reason.

Alt-right people are the new Tea Party. I'm not saying in beliefs/policy per se (although some of the same elements are there) but in that when you said Tea Party from, say, 2011-2014, people knew "those are the CRAZY republicans don't pay attention to them."

who don't want to think of themselves as racists.
She seems to have the election in a pretty comfortable place for herself, so she now has room to say alot of nice things about Republicans and give them permission to vote for her. Plus, she flatters the GOP leadership by talking this way, so that when she wins, she'll be able to hopefully get more done with them on board.
It's funny because she almost certainly *isn't* thinking much about Black and Brown folks with these comments, even though they're ostensibly "about" us. She's got the Black vote totally locked up already, she didn't need to give this speech to get us to vote for her. And the Alt Right is not something that will motivate historic Black voter turnout.

one thing that's really *fascinating* about the left's re-assessment of lbj post-2010 is that they want to see lbj as a failure (both his principles and his horse-trader style). it's pretty transparent as an attempt to justify the lack of ambition and get-shit-done-itude of his democratic successors in the congress.
i can imagine hillary ending up with a vietnam issue. don't see how she could end up with a great society issue.
