Yes, woman want and need to be “saved”. Because life in 2016 is Mad Men.
So much to, uh, unpack from this post.
-Women who settle down with a family are “saved”.
-The stunning revelation that the people we marry have often had sexual partners prior to ourselves
-The odd assumption that whichever woman we marry was not just some other guys girlfriend, but also a sidepiece. Not to mention implications further down in the post that she’s most likely lying if she says she was a virgin or had minimal partners.
-The remarkably modern conclusion that “she does want to be saved”, implying that women have a fundamental need to be saved and that salvation is achieved by finding a man and packing lunches for kids.
This is basically a portrait of male messiah complex. “She” doesn’t want to be saved so much as “he” wants to be a savior. If a man can’t be a woman’s first and only, by god, he can certainly be the master who reins her in and gets her to pack those lunches.

The way it read and still reads comes across incredibly tone deaf.
I can't think of a single context outside of imminent mortal danger where a woman being "saved" is a good thing. The man doesn't need to put her on a pedestal for "saving" a woman to come across as a negative thing.
Even the explanation that "she decides she wants to be valued" and all that still reeks of old-school patriarchal perceptions of women.
Settling down doesn't mean she decides she wants to be valued, it generally means she simply decides on a new course in life and a whole host of motivations come with that that aren't directly tied to how a woman is or isn't perceived by men and that's my entire point:
What a woman does in her life isn't always tied to how she chooses to be treated by men. It's tied to what she wants for herself, from herself, like any other human being.
