"Why do ppl wanna see Trump debate Hillary?"

The dude is gonna kick her in the nuts.
He don't play fair.
Trump is straight guerilla warfare.
HRC ain't ready for that.

She has no political past to hurt him on.
He has a LOOOOT of politcal garbage to dump on her.

She is going to try and "Trump" experience.
Donald is going to come back and show a piss poor job she did handling Benghazi and them emails and TPP
and all the other lil shit she's done

She can't use that "because I'm a laaaady" card no more

The Don is coming for dat azz!

Sept 26 can't get here fast enough

These debates are going to be a MUCH different environment than the primaries.

Hillary can handle herself just fine. No one has talked about real issues almost at all yet in the campaign on either side. That will happen in the debates. Everything gets ramped up at that point.

This is where Hillary has a really big advantage.

I really think it's completely unpredictable. I've written alot about this in past threads. How do you beat someone like Trump in this climate? Kasich tried to be the adult in the room. Rubio tried to beat him at his own game. Jeb tried the traditional debate route. Cruz tried a combination of all three approaches.

Using the GOP debates as a point of reference....I don't think Trump can go at Hillary the way he did with Jeb Bush. The optics just won't work for that. Jeb Bush tried to actually 'debate' Trump. In terms of substance...he had him beat on every level imaginable. But he still got absolutely throttled (a historic beatdown really) because Trump was the alpha-male. The bully. The anti-intellectual. He was relentless. In fact...alot of the early momentum Trump gained was fueled by his attacks on Bush. It's not completely unreasonable to suggest that if Jeb didn't run....Trump may not have pulled this off. I don't think Trump's attacks on Bush were even meant to be a direct attempt to eliminate him. Trump NEEDED Jeb there to establish his alpha-male role for all the plebeians that ended up voting for him.

In anycase....the optics just won't work with a man attacking a woman like that. That won't even play well with Trump supporters despite their irrationally strong Hillary hate. So Trump WILL have to tone it down a bit as compared to what he did to Jeb. Look for Trump to bait Hillary into calling him a racist and then playing the victim. If that happens...it'll help him win votes.

As for Hillary....she's really stuck. I mean....it will be historically EASY for her to win the debate in the traditional sense. But this will be more about posturing and characterizations then it will be about the issues. I really don't see how these debates can help her. But they can certainly do damage to her. She needs to be careful of taking any bait. At crucial times...Trump will attempt to make HER look like the bully. And he will attempt to make her comments feel like an attack on the viewers themselves. If she calls Trump racist/stupid....she will be perceived to be calling the American public racist/stupid. I just don't see an out for her. Bernie would've had a chance. (had to sneak that in there) It's really not fair. If (more accurately 'when') she wins the substance of the issues....she will be perceived to be condescending and elitist. That's why Bernie would've had a chance. It's much more difficult to make Bernie sound condescending and elitist. And that's basically all Trump needs to do.

Again...it's not fair. Being 'right' won't matter.

Is that OK for you for me to deviate from those two slots?
That's why the senators name is scribbled because it's my daughter as a write-in
Is that OK with you?

And quite frankly, although a conservative, I don't cae for Gregg Abbott in his wheelchair ass.

But she's also gotta be careful not to go into the gutter with him, cuz if she does he'll demolish her (see little marco)
She's gotta stay above it all when he brings up Monica, emails, benghazi, calls her crooked every 3 seconds, etc etc

You basically have two scenarios:

Normal 'Sane' Debate Rules:

Forgetting about how he's never given a legit answer on policy and these debates tend to be heavy policy focused....he's going to have to find a way of filling up his time with hot air and make it entertaining which is going to be difficult because Hilldawg isnt as interesting a punching bag as the cast of clowns he was dealing with.

Post-Mein Trump Debate Rules where 'facts don't matter' and its snapping:

Like I said before, there's no card he can pull on Hilary that hasn't been pulled before unless he finds new ways of rhyming Benghazi.

Trump though? Trump has plenty of cards to pull and is sensitive as shit. I put Vegas odds on a meltdown at 1 to 3.

and he's thin skinned as shit. I don't think he's got the temperment to have someone go at him directly for hours at a time; its a lot easier to deal with shit like that when you've got the upper hand as opposed to Hilary who's been under the flames from having to answer questions about her Husband getting dome to sitting on a senate panel yelling Benghazi at her for days at a time.

Trump works when he's the best/funniest in the room...when he's not...

If we talking about why it would be an interesting debate and why we would want it and why he would lose; I discussed it above. All your positives in the OP are really negatives in a debate. Would his base care? Nope.

Nigga, you talk like a Cowboys fan. In general I agree with you; there's a strain of anti-intellectualism that American's love and has already affected us in interesting ways (influx of foreign coders making bank, the rise of the google class) but that's a whole other post

It's rather more like "HRC's supporters don't care about the e-mails/Benghazi *quite as much* as they care about the prospect of electing someone who's proposing building a wall between America and its closest neighbour and banning all members of the world's 2nd most populous religion"

Deeply imperfect democrat Vs proud fascist provocateur that even the Republican Party struggles to support.

Kinda easy.

Not America's best electoral offerings by any means, but that's no reason to sew the seeds of fascism. Even straight ticket Republicans should be grudgingly voting for HRC at this point.

Don't be the German that voted Hitler in.

You're not voting for him in spite of that, you're voting for him BECAUSE of that?

What do you think misogynist means? How is that something to vote for?

I'm not even snarking - genuinely confused.

It's one thing to talk ish and threaten a person abstractly, it can be disastrous and very off putting to do it in person.

Of course Trumpsters won't care but at this point this is all about those few people who incredibly remain on the fence.

no one on the fence is going to watch and say "omg, you cant talk to a lady like that"

as long as he doesnt say her pussy stinks or she didnt give birth to Chelsea he will get a pass on talking shit about her.

Although that was one of his big fuckups when he went after Fiorina's looks...but with all the anti-hillary rhetoric its gonna be full steam ahead.

That said, if she's able to turn that image around just a bit Trump's gonna have a problem. Bill Clinton might have to take an L and plan a heart attack around debate time.

bullies can't look tough when the response is "i love you."

either way, she's gonna smoke him if she uses the right ammo. they need to go deep.

they need to talk about him offering the opportunity to run the country to his veeps. they need to talk about him lending his name to real estate projects in the UAE where they use slave labor.

there's so much ammo on trump. way more than Hillary.

One of Trump's L's in the primaries was when he went in on Carly Fiorina. Probably her only shining moment in the primaries was that just about everyone agreed she bested Trump. And Fiorina is repellent as a person could get. She makes Hillary feel likeable.

The shit with Megyn Kelly because she dared ask him some questions he didn't want to be asked.. He can't help himself

He goes hard at men too but Trump wants his women subservient. If Hillary comes hard at him, I don't know if he's disciplined enough to not become completely undisciplined and unhinged. it ain't gonna be about policy, or ammo he's got on hillary, it's gonna be personal(I got at least 50/50 that he calls her a cunt before this is all over. either live or hot mic'd)

And yeah, that'll play good with his core primary crowd, MRA types, or people who already can't stand Hillary enough that they'll never vote for her no matter what.. but everyone else though? aka most of the country?

Folks just don't understand what they are dealing with.

Trump has already won. An attention whore that has garnered attention at the highest level. He's already in the history books. He truly has NOTHING to lose. Even if he gets blown out in the election, he still wins.

Trump definitely isn't going to fold while doing what he does best: Talking about himself.

Again, like he's said himself he could kill someone in cold blood and his fans won't care. So as far as making Trump look foolish to his base not gonna happen.

BUUUT.

However, Hilary hitting him with a punch that temporarily wipes the smirk off his face is def. probable; Trump's never had someone talk shit to his face...he's always been in a position of power.

Sadly enough, Hillary has the most balls of anyone he's faced. I don't think he can handle a mean backhanded snipe at Trump University when they are talking about education...etc...its going to be weird rants about how 'TRUMP UNIVERSITY IS THE HARVARD OF ONLINE UNIVERSITIES' lol

The national stage is different than the primary. His approach will not play with the overwhelming population. He will not win the key states that he needs to win the election. This will be as bad if not worse than the previous election - an enormous landslide. People thinking otherwise are mired in the day-to-day wins and have twitter hot take attention spans.

For the first time in a long time, there is a good chance that a debate makes a real impact. I think either one of them could end up making the other look really bad.

getting spooked. Can't say the same for Trump.

I think it will be easy to make him look unhinged. Which will hurt with the undecided...if any of those exist anymore.

She's long overdue to win a debate. I mean she won the primary but 80% of the platform is Bernie's.

It'll be nice for her to have this homecoming game on her schedule.

Hillary has a long record of selling her integrity and bombing the fuck out of brown people, so I don't know how much I throw that in her favor.

If I were in a swing state, I'd hold my nose and vote for her. But I have to say the trolling has exposed a lot about her here, it's like the Boondocks Obeezy episode but worse.

Hes like the cow that keeps stepping on its own tits and yells "ouch!"

Cant get out of his own way.

His frenetic, incohesive, no filter style will be one of his downfalls in the debates.

Its going to be comical when they delve into the multi-layers of the Middle East conflict and Trump will be as clueless as an eskimo in the desert.

Trump isn't even as good a nominee as Romney or McCain and you see how that went down.

I cant wait for the debates.

The thing that scares me about his potential presidency is less that he will make good on these ridiculous, impossible and ultimately insincere promises (e.g. Muslim branding, building a wall, etc) or that he'll rape the constitution (checks and balances), but that he will use his position for his own gain. Not that Hillary won't--she has her entire career--but I could see him being really shameless and transparent about it. I think overall he doesn't know what he is doing and will defer to people who will. As long as he doesn't pick a Dick Cheney type as a right-hand man, we will be OK.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Maybe not exactly in ideology but absolutely in power of the position
>>

Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?

“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

I'm troubled by the fact that so many Americans are this bigoted, hateful, and down right STUPID

he, as a white man, gaining access to new forms and levels of power, through means he doesn't even truly believe in, is secondary.

This country has so much work to do even if Hilary wins.

Not to mention, he's not even up to snuff for the job. Trump is like the angry, misogynistic spirit animal for all the gloriously bullshit-mediocre white men out there who seem to score that job promotion over more worthy, more qualified women.....

Because uhhh yeah.
Shit sounds like 43.

And what is HRC's response when she trots out Trump's misogyny then Trump trots out Lewinsky?
Not just talking about her, but Lewinsky comes to the podium herself wearing that EXACT SAME blue dress.

Billy Clint was stuffing cigars in women's vaginas and smoking them.
Smoking the cigars not the vaginas.
As the leader oft he free world a WHITE man with soooo much power you don't see a problem with that?

some would say my undergrad record was pisspoor and dog shit coming from a "slave school"
and that i didn't "deserve" to be at those ivies
but when it came down to it i was running NECK AND NECK with my ivy classmates

so quit that D student bullshit

Trump doesn't get a "pass" for nothing.
He just rolls with things well.
You don't recall Trump had FOX NEWS at his throat?
MSNBC and CNN has never been Trump's friend
So, who is giving Trump these passes?

The tide is turning, Legs...Trump has stepped into it with his brazen disrespect of the Muslim Gold Star family.

I mean, when dude implied that Khan's wife was forced to stay silent during his speech at the DNC convention because of their Muslim religion (when actually she was too emotional to even utter a word about her dead son, a hero who gave his life for this country), that was as self-destructive as it comes...

Trump not ready for prime time. Sure, white people (men) are angry and want their country back (which is bullshit, btw...)...They can't be swayed. They will never break away from the Cult of Trump...

Hopefully, the rest of the country doesn't succumb to such outright fear and hatred....

Of course it doesn't matter what Trump says....But I'm not talking about his supporters, homie.

And I'm not talking about the folks who are insinuating that Khan is a secret ISIS plant...Or the ones who think their job is being taken away by "the other"....His base will follow him over a cliff....And that's no hyperbole....

I'm talking about the folks beyond Trump's base. The general public....Don't apply this with what I said during a primary fight.

In general elections u need to draw more than your base....So far, Trump is doing all he can to scare away folks who don't own a Make America Great Again hat...

>no need to remind us of that fun fact...

Nah...Keep up homie...

Trump is trying to win over WOMEN by being the law and order candidate. He's telling soccer moms I CAN PROTECT YOU...

That's how he has been trying to expand his voting base. That's why he was attempting to walk back a lot of his statements he made about women....And that's why he has boosted the role of his daughter Ivana in such a high profile way....

But then Trump attacks a Gold Star mother after she and her husband criticize him as someone who is running for President? He attacks a woman still mourning her son?

That won't help his case with the suburban/soccer moms that he will need to win this election....

But like I said before...Trump gonna Trump....

I don't think some folks in this thread understand how close Trump is to imploding...It's one thing to shit on a war hero like John McCain who is viewed with some folks with disdain by Trump's base and the alternative Right as being part of the establishment wing of the Republican Party..U can get away with that in this very partisan/new blood environment because McCain is viewed as a old guard politician....

But when you have a non-political group of Gold Star families (that's military folks who have lost loved ones during war) come out and rebuke Trump for his treatment of the Khans and demand an apology, we are on some next shit. Trust...Trump will be issuing an apology sooner than later. That is if he's not foolish enough to keep digging himself in this cavernous hole....

CNN
Gold Star families demand apology from Trump

By David Wright
Updated 1052 GMT (1852 HKT) August 1, 2016

(CNN)A group of families of fallen service members wrote a letter Monday condemning Donald Trump's "anti-American" comments toward the parents of a slain Muslim U.S. solider, and demanded an apology from the Republican presidential hopeful.

"Your recent comments regarding the Khan family were repugnant and personally offensive to us," wrote the group of 11 "Gold Star" families, who are those who have lost a family member in war. "We feel we must speak out and demand you apologize to the Khans, to all Gold Star families, and to all Americans for your offensive, and frankly anti-American comments."

The letter, published Monday on VoteVets.org, comes amid a chorus of criticism in response to Trump's burgeoning feud with the Khan family, which began after Khizr Khan, the father of slain Army Cpt. Humayun Khan, delivered a forceful condemnation of Trump in a speech at the Democratic National Convention. Trump responded by criticizing his wife, Ghazala Khan, for her silence during his speech and suggesting she wasn't allowed to speak.

"Ours is a sacrifice you will never know. Ours is a sacrifice we would never want you to know," the families wrote in the letter.

The group hit Trump for questioning why Khan's wife didn't speak at the convention, writing: "When you question a mother's pain, by implying that her religion, not her grief, kept her from addressing an arena of people, you are attacking us. When you say your job building buildings is akin to our sacrifice, you are attacking our sacrifice."
And the group rejected the idea that Trump was being unfairly criticized for his remarks out of "political correctness."

"You are not just attacking us, you are cheapening the sacrifice made by those we lost. You are minimizing the risk our service members make for all of us. This goes beyond politics. It is about a sense of decency. That kind decency you mock as 'political correctness.'"

Demanding an apology, they finish the letter by saying, "We hope you will hear us."
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

What's your point?

Even a twit like W handled criticism by Sheehan in a much more mature, level headed, dignified and respectful way than your boy...Not to mention THESE ARE FAMILIES putting Trump on blast...Not just one family....

But back to your straw man bullshit......Here's W's response to Sheehan who called the President everything but a child of God:

'I grieve for every death,' Bush said as Cindy Sheehan remained camped out about 5 miles away. For six days she has been demanding Bush meet with her about her son, Casey Austin Sheehan, an Army specialist killed in combat in Baghdad in April 2004. "It breaks my heart to think about a family weeping over the loss of a loved one. I understand the anguish that some feel about the death that takes place,' Bush said.

And here's Trump:

“If you look at his wife, she was standing there,” he said, referring to her appearance at the Democratic national convention, in which she stood alongside her husband as he delivered a searing critique of Donald Trump. “She had nothing to say … Maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me.”

If u can't see the the difference then u still on yo' trolling bullshit...

But like I said it below it exposes his blindspots; dude just doesn't convey compassion and warmth and doesn't deal well with attacks that are personal 'You've sacrificed nothing'/

Sheehan was a focal point to the anti-war movement but keep in mind we were still pro-war as a nation around the time.

A response to Khan should have been a slam dunk (Praise the kid/family, say its dispicable the dems are using his death for pub).

Is it going to hurt his base? Nope. But dude seems incapable of conveying compassion and that's going to be a problem as we go into the big debates.

from the Bern perspective

in addition to agreeing with his policies and consistency of being on the right side on alot of social issues

I never bought the argument that being labeled a socialist in 2016 (the polls are out there)

compares to her abysmal record

and it turns my stomach a bit to have to agree with Donald when he regurgitates those same arguments we made from day 1

i.e., she's one of the most powerful politicians of my lifetime

but we're absolving her of any responsibility for the current state of affairs in the US

while simultaneously instilling faith and hope that she will change those current state of affairs

it's really a simple argument for him to make

and in spite of all of his outrageous comments, etc...outside of a formal setting

when he gets on that stage with scripts prepared and memorized

I want to see the reaction of the HRC base when it's laid bare

Bern really side stepped alot of landmines he could have laid

took the high road

and he Lost

Trump will not (insert MJ popcorn gif)

he puts a label on the opponent

crooked Hillary

it sticks

when they attacked in the debate

or through the media

they Lost ground

I don't think it matters what the content of his responses are TBH

it's the Monday after the DNC convention

and Trump is the headline <-- same strategy that won him the nomination

as long as he's the focus, voters don't seem to care to much about why

and it worked

if I was HRC, and/or a supporter, I would recommend using the response time to focus on herself

focus on her policies

and how they benefit voters

continuing the dialogue of Trump and directly engaging Donald was an L for the GOP candidates

again

I don't understand the HRC strategy.

>right on time with the historionics Murph

Chill homie... Histrionics is not suggesting that Trump's slash and burn way of doing things in the primaries is already causing him to stumble in the general...

I'm not the one bringing up how Trump was able to vanquish his opponents IN A GOP PRIMARY...That's u...lol...That's one of the biggest points in your post....That Trump will GO THERE while Bernie couldn't/didn't.....

I'm simply saying, without an ounce of snark or side-eye, that this is the big leagues now. Trump showing his ass will not turn off his supporters....He got them on lock...

But there is a reason why Trump turned down a debate during the GOP primaries when the numbers dwindled beyond the 16 candidates in the field...

Trump knows that he shines brighter when there's a circus onstage....But his bullshit doesn't work one-on-one...What is Trump going to do will he is REALLY attacked during a debate...U have to remember, the GOP was mainly shitting on Clinton/Bernie....They weren't getting at each other (or Trump) until it was too late...

Read the article by the ghost writer of the Art of the Deal. He spent over a year with Trump and was shocked by Trump's lack of attention span and his incessant preoccupation with self-aggrandizement. A very small percentage of the voting population participates in the primaries, and on this stage, the steady hand will win the day. Trump will be awful in the debates because he doesn't even know things that even the casual consumer of news knows (See: Annexation of Crimea). He continuously punts on these issues because he has no ideas or understanding of world affairs. He will no longer be able to punt in the debate.

There is absolutely zero evidence that he will have measured, effective, scripted responses to debate questions. Plus, he does not have the funds to campaign.

he won the GOP debates, most people would agree, while being attacked, and I don't remember him losing composure

but the 4th thing

how many times do people have to be wrong referencing historionics IRT Trump

Remember how it was a big deal when Cruz and Rubio went at him in the very end; up until that point he was the big bully on stage because his opponents feared come off 'un-presidential'

You're right about how we've been playing the 'This is the thing that will FINALLY stop the train' only to have him end up on the other side strong but that's not this post; everyone pretty much concedes that his base is unbreakable. Doesn't mean he has the capacity to deal with a debate against an opponent with equal footing.

It was a weak field and they treated him with kid gloves. That is not happening this time around, and he is already crumbling under the general election scrutiny. The big story to lead the week is him alienating military families, not Crooked Hillary nor Benghazi. Trump is, for the first time, on the defensive and narcissists cannot help themselves but to treat any criticism as a total slander of their character. Hence, Trump's overreaction and refusal to take responsibility for his actions. He will not win the states he needs to in this environment. He does not have enough votes with the populations he needs.

I think its clear that some folks are simply hoping for a Clinton L...

It ranges from some folks not ever being a fan of Hillary Clinton (for legit reasons) to straight up sour grapes amongst the Bernie faithful (see, Hillary is going to lose!!! Bernie should have ran!!!!!) to people who just want to be on some Contrarian shit on Trump's chances.....

Trump: The general election will be 'rigged'
By BIANCA PADRÓ OCASIO 08/01/16 04:04 PM EDT

Donald Trump empathized with Bernie Sanders supporters on Monday, saying the Vermont senator lost the Democratic primary because the election was rigged, and said he feared the general election would be rigged as well.

“First of all, it’s rigged and I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged, to be honest. I have to be honest because I think my side was rigged,” Trump said at a campaign event in Columbus, Ohio.

The Republican nominee also said Hillary Clinton's campaign had a "hard time putting Bernie away."

"Remember this, I had 17 people. I wasn’t running against two people, I had 17 people. Hillary Clinton, I had a similar number to Hillary Clinton and she had Bernie, and she had a hard time putting Bernie way," Trump said. “And Bernie, poor Bernie, he looked so upset. You know what? He made a mistake, he shouldn’t have made a deal. Sometimes-- he lost, he lost.”

Still too early to whisper blowout....

But even as I keep the recent polls that have Clinton kicking Trump's ass in perspective (again, if those numbers hover around the same levels three weeks from now, the GOP should indeed freak out) there r two polls that stick out.

The recent FOX News (!!!) poll that has Clinton up by 10 points and the poll that has Clinton beating Trump in New Hampshire by 15 points.....New Hampshire is the land of independents. Any Dem leading with such gaudy number there is pretty eye opening.....Those are alarming numbers for Trump even if they are too early to latch on completely....

By the end of this month we will know who will truly have the upper hand.....

every other gaffe people have claimed was the death blow but this definitely kills a large part of his base

the one thing he had going was being able to energize his base but the only thing worse than criticizing gold star families is if he suddenly pissed off gun nuts (although he might have already accomplished that feat in one fell swoop)

he's losing the Republican base but likely not losing the bigot base but where those 2 collide, he's losing enough to feel it

Ones that aren't up for re-election, or out of the game types like Meg Whitman. Most of them are stuck tho. guys like Paul Ryan are in a shit spot politically. They can't remotely show support for Hillary because in two years when Trump is (hopefully) out of the picture, all it's gonna be is "____ supported Hillary Clinton". and they know she'll probably win. But there's of course a chance she won't and at some point they have to look beyond even Trump being a danger to the Republican party to the realization that he's a fuckin legit danger to humanity

But yeah.. this ain't the death blow

The big thing I'm sensing is that Trump is losing control of the narrative which he has been successfully controlling through this whole process. But something's changed. This is more than a convention bump. I think the Khan thing might have been a magic bullet. I think it's getting to a point now that Trump can only win if something really big happens....like a 9/11 type event.

Indeed, National polls don't mean much at the moment...

But usual Republican leaning polls are worth looking at....Like I said up top, those Fox News and New Hampshire polls look dire for Trump.....

And there are now reports that Clinton is even beating Trump in polls in Georgia, which in itself is NUTS....

Again, it's not just about polls...It's about the historically flawed candidate Trump. Just this morning, Trump was on Twitter walking back several dishonest claims that he saw a secret video of $400 million being placed onto a plane to give to Iran. It was a lie. His campaign said it never happened. Trump doubled down and gave the same story in a speech. Now he's walking it back.

Trump can't even take advantage of news that should benefit him against Clinton/Obama. He can't help himself.

BTW...stop the bullshit trolling...

Good to see u admit u were bullshitting...

And yeah....MOST polls ARE BULLSHIT after Labor Day.....

Some r not....(the ones I alluded to)

Trump at the moment is a dumpster fire in a lake of gasoline....

The swing state numbers are freaking out the Trump campaign and the GOP....And at the moment Clinton is beating Trump in the Rustbelt States (Middle America), a noticeable flip flop from previous numbers.....Down ticket GOP congressional candidates are getting killed. And its all because of Trump....

Trump's saving grace has been the white male vote. Well, Trump is even underperforming there...Romney garnered more white male voters at the very same point....

There is no Dem leaning poll predicting Trump....Cut out the straw man shit...

We agree that national polls in early Aug. r useless....

The only polls worth looking at pre-Labor day are polls that traditionally have leaned heavily Republican and swing state polls....Clinton, at the moment, is beating Trump on both counts....That's worth noting...

No...It's relevant because I'm looking at history....

It's far too early to be predicting anything. But any Fox News poll that has a Dem Presidential candidate over a Repug candidate by DOUBLE DIGITS is alarming...

And when that candidate is Trump, well, that amplifies said alarm....

He basically owns a large sect of the party right now. A good amount of them aren't even political. They just believe in his rhetoric wholeheartedly. Push him out and replace him with some establishment suit, they're gonna stay home.

Plus it's not like he'd ever do what bernie did and encourage his people to get behind Ryan or Romney or really, anyone.

They're stuck

The emails were a factor because how she would fare on the national was also part of the concern but it was more internal Democratic beef: Bernie looked like he might actually beat her for the nomination and they feared he was un-electable because America's feel the word socialist is worse then the n-word.

It only lasted like a month with him sending out fundraising feelers + higher profile everywhere for a few weeks but pretty sure the goons sat him down on some "you want it to be one way but it's the other" (c) Marlo.

When the GOP does shit like this:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/01/us/critics-see-efforts-to-purge-minorities-from-voter-rolls-in-new-elections-rules.html?_r=0

The majority-white Hancock County Board of Elections and Registration was systematically questioning the registrations of more than 180 black Sparta citizens — a fifth of the city’s registered voters — by dispatching deputies with summonses commanding them to appear in person to prove their residence or lose their voting rights. “When I read that letter, I was kind of nervous,” Mr. Flournoy said in an interview. “I didn’t know what to do.”

Not to say the dems don't do scumbag shit, but WHAT THE FUCK.

Hillary is PRAYING that he doesn't drop out. He's gotta take one for the team so she can win.

I don't think she cares one way or the other. If Trump dropped out the GOP would not even have enough time to place a serious candidate in his place. U need a layered infrastructure and a no bullshit ground game in order to run for President. And that takes time to build up for a NEW candidate. It's too late in the game for them to flip flop on Trump. At this point they will just bite the bullet and try their best to make sure they don't take a beating on the down ticket races...

And the GOP fumbles around and puts a dud up there (though Romney could swing in and give her fits).

what then stops Bernie from going Green if their is no threat of Trump?

Hell, the threat of Trump is her #1 weapon in driving out the vote! People aren't even paying attention to issues anymore, it's just "you are a fool if you would let Trump win"

If Trump dropped out, it would be the worst thing for her campaign. Immeasurable collateral damage.

This is what happens when you spend 8 years demonizing a straight forward, reasonable and ridiculously mainstream figure like Obama, turning him into a law abusing, fire breathing socialist who snuck into the country and doesn't have his papers...

Now the angry ass base wants blood and the so called moderate Republicans don't pass the smell taste....

They hated Obama (HE BLACK!!!!) more during his eight years than they hated Clinton...lol...

This is a self-fulfilling prophecy that began way before Clinton even announced she was running for President again....When you make a lot of promises that you can't keep the base will always tune u out. That's why the GOP can't find a suitable person to run against H. Clinton. Because their "suitable" candidates like Jeb Bush and Kasich are loathed by the base.

Right now Clinton should be on knees thanking God that the GOP time and time again played with fire by taking advantage of the fears and anger of the poor and the low information voters who were actually made to believe that their rights are being taken away from them by that NIGGER in office...

Now the GOP elites are getting burned to the stake...

He's on the team because of three reasons...

1. Bernie agrees with Clinton on a host of issues waaaaaaaay more than Trump...

2. He wants to stop Trump.

3. He knows that the Green Party under Jill S. is not the answer...At all...

Party. Even without Trump in the picture (or if there is, it's news to me)

I know Jill Stein said something to the effect that she'd step aside if he did, but I don't see anything from Bernie signaling he'd be into that... other than that a faction of his supporters would want him to.

>If Trump dropped out, it would be the worst thing for her
>campaign. Immeasurable collateral damage.

Nah... too much of Trump's base would stay home. A big part of his appeal is that he's so anti-establishment. Plus there's no way Trump would do what Bernie did by encouraging his supporters to support new candidate under the narrative of "Hillary must be stopped." He'd more likely be throwing tantrums about how the republican party did him dirty. It would be a disaster.

But he ain't dropping out

at this point any sort of alliance would be transparent/immoral/contradictory/useless. which i'd buy from stein given their position, but not from bernie.

seems pretty clear to me that if the greens poll more than .5% in this election, *most* of their supporters have no idea what their candidates are about.

anyone who survives the next year is going to get a free reset.

i think people forget that most of these republicans have built their careers in an era where they're operating in opposition to a president. they'll be comfortable (and still have thousands of offices to hold) with being out of the oval office.

yes, they might still tear the party apart, but that i'm almost certain that was going to happen eventually anyway. can you imagine what these jokers would do if they actually ran the show? i don't think they have any idea what they'd do or how they'd hold it together if the various wings of the republican party had to set a national agenda and hold power.

maybe one out of ryan/paul/kasich/cruz for example gets sacrificed in the next 2 years, but that still leaves us with 3 guys with legit crazy ideas who got a free pass this cycle when they obviously could have been exposed for being batshit.

185. "Trump's NY State Campaign Co-Chairmam: "Obama A Muslim""
In response to Reply # 0

I mean...it's too easy....

---

‘No Doubt’ President Obama is a Muslim, Donald Trump’s New York Campaign Chair Says

By Will Bredderman • 08/04/16 8:00pm

Speaking over the phone for an unrelated story, Carl Paladino—the 2010 GOP candidate for governor of New York—abruptly changed subjects and assailed the sitting president and his policies. The Buffalo-based real estate developer and Tea Party activist maintained that Obama, a practicing Christian, has sought to mislead the public about his religious affiliation, but that the citizenry has not fallen for his falsehoods.

“In the mind of the average American, there is no doubt he is a Muslim,” Paladino said. “He is not a Christian.”

By way of proof, Paladino seemed to argue Obama has taken a pro-Muslim approach in conducting American affairs abroad.

“Look at what he’s done with Iran, what he’s done with the Sunni-Shia thing over in Iraq and Iran, and with ISIS,” the Republican said.

Conspiracy theories about the president’s supposed secret Islamic faith have circulated since he first ran for the White House in 2008. Such unsubstantiated assertions often highlight that his father was born into a Muslim family in Kenya, and that Obama received some instruction in the religion at the Indonesian public school he attended as a child.

But they do not account for why Obama for 20 years attended Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, where the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright served as pastor, or why he has since worshiped at several churches in Washington, D.C.

Contrary to Paladino’s assertions, the average American does not seem to believe there is “no doubt” the president is a Muslim: polls indicate only 18 to 29 percent of the populace identify him as an adherent of the world’s second-largest religion. However, surveys suggest a full two-thirds of Trump supporters believe the president has hidden his true allegiances to the Quran and the holy city of Mecca.

Italian-born underwear model Anthony Sabato Jr. also claimed the president was “absolutely” a Muslim shortly after his address to the GOP convention in Cleveland last month.

Prior to launching his presidential bid last year, Trump himself trafficked in related false claims that Obama was born outside the United States and is thus Constitutionally ineligible to serve as its commander-in-chief. Just yesterday, his former campaign manager and current CNN contributor Corey Lewandowski re-upped that conspiracy theory, saying that Obama’s Harvard transcripts, which he has not released, might have revealed whether he was admitted to the school as a citizen.

Obama has released his so-called “long form” birth certificate. Trump, meanwhile, has also drawn controversy for refusing to release documents—his tax returns.

This is far from Paladino’s first brush with controversy. During his 2010 run for governor, he came under fire for comments he made about the attire at gay pride parades, and for a series of emails he had allegedly sent over the years—emails that included pictures of nude women, videos of horses copulating with humans and material that seemed to compare African-Americans to chimpanzees.

This is also not the first time Paladino has speculated about the president’s personal theology, as he suggested on the 2010 campaign trail that Obama “worships himself.” Paladino ultimately drew only a third of the vote against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, but he has since expressed interest in running for the highest office in the state again.

More recently, he attracted attention for comparing the president to a “raccoon in the basement” at a Trump rally.
