Baton Rouge police say there were reports of multiple officers shot not far from the department's headquarters Sunday morning.
Sgt. Don Coppola, a spokesman with the Baton Rouge Police Department, said the scene was contained but couldn't say whether a suspect or suspects were in custody. He said he didn't know the nature of the injuries.
A section of Airline Highway, about seven miles from the police department, was closed off "due to police activity," according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation. It was unclear if the road closure was connected to the shooting.
The Baton Rouge Police Department has been on high alert since the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling prompted protests in the city. Amid the turmoil, four people were arrested in an alleged plot to shoot and kill police officers.

These police officers are heralded as heroes upon death and given even more justification for their racist policies as we continue to die at their hands for no legit reason. It sucks that people died but... cops kill my people every day that's life (c)
You would be remorseful for the fallen human beings who happen to be cops. They were people first, and innocent. Secondarily they were cops.
If you are dismissive of their personhood because they have been socialized as "cops" then it is no better than dismissing the himan who are killed under the social markers of "black", "thug", "poor", "gay", etc.
Loss of innocent human life itla always tragic. Always.
However the system which needs immediate reform does not need your sympathy.

Pro Black Lives is not anti Cop Lives. The system needs to be reformed, but we are not trying to achieve that my mudering cops. You can have space in your heart for a senselessly murdered individual.

Did you not read the article by the black officer who on his first day watched a white officer punch a teenager who couldn't walk in the crotch in the teenagers house? He didn't do a damn thing for the kid and he was once a black male teen himself I'm sure.
The police are simply reaping what they have sown for centuries and it's a shame these officers have to be in the field while the harvest is collected, but that's how it goes I guess.
Maybe if the wealthy folks who spout so much praise for them would get these high powered weapons off the street so that one man can't kill 5 then perhaps their lives would be in less jeopardy.

It's only so much people can take before they feel threatened and retaliate.
