"Poll question: sort of a dead-horse poll round these parts, I'm guessing, but..."

Bobby Brown has got to be one of the most talented, charismatic and just straight up coolest entertainers to ever grace the scene, dontcha think?

I mean at the heights of his (short lived?) solo career he was damn near considered the "King of R&B"...I dunno.

This post was inspired by "On Our Own" and me just remembering how hard that joint goes.

this was before every big name in music was crossing over like now. He had 2 minutes of screen time but that was big! Plus that song was every where.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

"Don't Be Cruel" was HUGE and had massive crossover appeal (without losing black radio). And about every single he dropped was a big hit.

When I think of titles like "King of R&B" or "King of Pop," I feel like those titles stick with the artist forever. Bobby may have been the King during his time on top but that time passed. I can't give him the title off of one massive album.
