The perfectly reasonable 'All Lives Matter' seems to be the loser here, lol.
If it wasn't used in such a racist fashion it would be perfectly appropriate to use now...but unfortunately one has to immediately suspect when it gets used.

If you say 'all lives matter'....you are saying that the particular and specific challenges and obstacles that black people face are irrelevant to you and that you don't care. I've been shutting people down left and right. Shit has become like a sport.
Not sure if it was by design...but this has been the greatest by-product of the term chosen for blm.

Re BLM my biggest issue is it seems most of its attention is directed at the system, The system is corrupt but it only respects power, particularly economic power. It is important we set right expectations. Expecting the system to bend to our will without any economic and political clout is futile IMO. We may see some cosmetic changes but the underbelly will remain corrupt
We must save ourselves, Spend black, support black causes and keep the black dollar within our community as a start

A backlash even amongst self-proclaimed liberals. They held up the gay parade a couple weeks ago for 25 minutes. Apparently, some seem to think it's inappropriate to make the gay parade 'political'. News to those of us who've been going more than 20 years....before it was sponsored by banks and fast food joints.
In anycase...I've had enough. No more being polite. No more avoiding awkward social situations. I'm voicing my shit at work, on social media...wherever. I've recited racial prison statistics and racial income equality stats so many times the past two weeks I've got them memorized.
