"Poll question: let's say you're moving: who you getting to help?"
this poll is inspired my man Footz who just had THE most bootleg move in the history of moving.
shit wasn't packed all the way. we moving stuff in garbage bags. the uhaul was too small. wasn't no tools to take shit apart.
the absolute worst.
he had this one smarty-art nigga helping that spent more time talking about moving than actually moving. it don't take a 45 minute planning session to organize a move. point out the shit that gotta go, put them dressers & couches & shit in the back and put those mattresses on top and let's get this shit moving. pick it up from here and move it to the truck out there.

I'll also mention that there are moving services that don't do everything - and they may be a better option. When we moved last year I used a company from movinghelp.com which is just a site that finds movers in your area and you can check reviews, ratings, and prices.
You still rent and drive the moving truck yourself from a company like U-Haul or whatever, and you pack stuff in boxes, but they will move everything from your old house the the truck and then from the truck to the new house.
That's the biggest thing to me - when you are moving couches or other large furniture, you gotta work the angles to get stuff through doors and in hallways and up/down stairs. The movers have the experience to do that quickly and efficiently. A service like this keeps the cost down because you aren't paying them to pack or to drive the truck.

The move from here will be to a house, and I'm only taking 1/2 of the shit that I have in this apartment. The mattress will be the hardest thing to move.

in like 2 seconds lol.
The key is having everything ready and labeled for them before they get there.
Plus they are insured.
I've seen too many valuable items broke by friends and family members..no thank you.
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Moving is like Batman foe: give yourself adequate prep time and your more or less invincible.
As long as you’re reasonably organized when you pack and don’t have anything ridiculous like pianos or gaudy armoires and stairs, it’s a breeze.
Get that heavy duty hand truck dolly, a furniture dolly and some straps and you’re golden. My last move wound up being a last minute affair and I had to get two of my friends to help out. Other than that I’ve handled everyone of my own moves myself and a handful of moves for friends.
That said, if you decide to pay a reputable mover to pack, move, and unpack, do yourself and the movers a favor and stay out of the mix unless they ask for your input. Everyone will have a much better experience.
