Second, I'm sure airbnb has some type of patent protection on their business model. They got to differentiate at least a little bit (and putting black faces on the website isn't differentiating)

I am 100% down with the idea of creating an alternative to airbnb, especially one that is black-owned and caters to that market.
However, I think its a bad look to launch a site that is a 100% bootleg of airbnb's site...and to just populate it with filler content....I think it would have been much better to just start with a landing page with their mission statement and why an alternative to airbnb is needed as well as a call out to attract people to list their apartments so that they can build up their community.
Instead, they tried to make it look like they've launched a new business in some parallel world where airbnb doesn't already exist. seems very rushed and unprofessional in my opinion.
secondly, why is airbnb to blame for the systematic racism that exists? From the reports I've read, the airbnb hosts that were proven to be discriminating or downright racist have had their listings taken down by airbnb and are no longer able to host. What else can airbnb do as a company when this is just a symptom of a much great issue?
