"Y'all gonna be mad if BHO tries to Get 'Dis Money post White House? "

No one will be mad at the major book deal right? I can see him easily get an 8 figure book deal.

And then there is the speaking tour right? Are there places it wouldn't be cool for him to go speak for money?

Would folks be cool if he was paid millions to speak at Wall Street firms if the substance of his speech was chastising them?

They say the Obamas are worth around 10M, how much money can Obama and dem make before people start getting on him for selling out the cause?

Folks are forgetting that Hillary had her hands all over Bill's administration. She was deep in development of policies & ideas. Not to mention her time as a senator & secretary of state.

People will pay a grip to get some time with someone who has credentials like that. No one should be surprised that she made a ton of money from talking to Wall Street bigwigs.

office. Like it looks all the way fcuked up that Tim Geithner, the dude who was in charge of overseeing banks immediately gets a job at a big bank after serving as the treasury secretary.

You can't do that great of a job regulating your future employer.

The person who has already made his money from Wall Street or the person is looking to get hired by Wall Street?

The best thing Donald Trump has going for him is that he is not directly or exactly from Wall Street, has his own money, and actually resents how much money those cats make and is willing to go after them on certain stuff.

He or she is likely fully vested in the culture, both socially and financially, if they've made big dollars in their time there. They're less likely to make drastic changes when they have established and profitable relationships with the industry.

Trump doesn't really get a pass for making his money outside of Wall Street because his companies have been dependent on Wall Street. He's occassionally fought the banks for his own self-interest but he still needs them.

I wonder if Obama regrets Geithner because he was compromised from jump for a totally different reason. How can you become Treasury Secretary after not paying your taxes for YEARS?!?! That should have been automatic disqualification. It's no surprise he went to Wall Street after his term; he was the usual self-interested financial wolf in Democrat's clothing.

Actually he doesn't work for a bank, he works for a private equity firm, pretty different from a regulatory perspective and he never had oversight over that. I know this because i see him every day.

But i get where you're coming from, it's a revolving door when it comes to politics and finance unfortunately.

But to go from arguing against eliminating the carried interest loophole and then going to a private equity firm looks completely like a conflict of interest.

Working for a PE firm you already know that argument has been all over the place. Honestly, he would be stupid not to take advantage of it while it was still on the books.

Every year they talk about addressing the loophole and every year it goes nowhere. Carry can make a decision for many people

of course everybody on OkayPlayer was way more rational in their expectation of BHO

but it's becoming quite clear

the candidate we voted for

twice

is not the person you would expect to be advocating for the TPP, budgeting $1T for nuclear weapons, labeled deporter in chief, etc...

he's a great politician, datall

so of course he's gonna get that $$$

There are a couple of things I think he probably could have advocated harder for but I pretty much trust his decision making and judgement and I think he tried to make the best decision each time even if the decision didn't have the greatest outcome.

But I think I've always had realistic expectations about what a President could accomplish.

attainable through some type of secret society ritual, so naturally he's going to receive quite a bit of bashing from those types. Then there will be those who feel like he owes Black people nationwide, so they will make suggestions as to how he should spend his money. Then there's going to be the closet racists who will make the argument that he became president with the sole intention of getting rich in the future.
So yeah it's going to be a thing when he gets his M's up, it's all about how much you choose to pay attention to those stories.

I was daydreaming about another 4 years of Obama and it occurred to me....imagine if this was Obama's first term? Trump v Obama. Goddamn that might have been the most fascinating political campaign in the history of the country. I bet Trump wouldn't even run though...he'd wait. Part of the reason he decided to carry out this whole wicked plot had to be the assurance that it was gonna be Hillary. His tactics are a perfect fit for her flaws and he knew it.

Obama/Trump debate just might have been the most watched political event of all time.

Both democrats are dry as hell compared to Trump so they're going to need Obama coming off the top rope. I think Obama pushes either over the top bc he'll be able to call Trump on his BS with some style.
