For iCloud Photo Sharing: does anyone know how to unsubscribe from someone's photo stream without them knowing I've done it?
I have a distant family member who just had a baby and they invited me to join the photo stream. It would have been rude to decline so I went ahead and accepted. But at this point they're posting dozens of pictures a day and I don't want to see them any more.
I've turned off notifications, but I don't want to see the album in my list of photo albums either. If that makes me a dick, so be it. I want to leave the group without hurting anyone's feelings. Like un-following someone on Facebook without them knowing.
I was going to post this in High-Tech but figured I might be more likely to find an answer in here. I also Googled this of course, but no dice.

i try to be real careful about posting pics of my kids, i recognize a lot of people don't really care to see it. it is annoying when someone clogs up your feed with nothing but pics of their kids doing essentially nothing remarkable. i can live with and even enjoy a cool shot, but no i don't really care about yall eating ice cream.

I certainly dont want anyone trying to force shit upon me. I'd be prone to ignoring the request, plenty family is just languishing in the request zone on Facebook
hell, I blocked my officiating pastor once he started following me on Instagram because I like to act an ass from time to time

Nope. But a family member has a new baby.
And the pictures are redundant and sort of unremarkable. I like to tell myself that when we post photos of our own kid, at least they're extremely cute or unique somehow. Not 30 different angles of the same photo.

I would, but we use it for sharing pics of our own baby with family.
I guess my point is that there should be a private unsubscribe option. So it's not obvious to the album creator that someone has left. That's all I need.
And I totally understand the irony here. If someone wanted to do the same thing to me, they should be able to without me seeing it.

Oh I definitely understand why that sounds hypocritical. LOL
It's just that our baby album is superior. Clever, well-sequenced, lean, and with no repetition. Our cuteness is carefully curated. It's the Illmatic of baby albums.
The photo album of this other baby is just a mess. You'd understand if you saw it.
