"Poll question: Am I being a dick, My girl acting up, or is my boy asking too much"

Ok quick run down.

My girl and I do not live together. This weekend were both had nothing planned, so the plan was to pretty much straight chill at her place all weekend.

My boy my jersey is in the air force and is in key west (4hr from me) for work. Turns out he can catch a ride up here today. Asks can he crash at my place.

I tell her about this and he is real mad. real real mad. told me to do whatever I want.

So I told him yes.

Women am I right! lol

unless he purposely asked to work 4 hours away to ruin your weekend with your girl he isn't the problem.

The problem is your girl said do what you want which means do what SHE wants.

She will be OK and if not, she probably isn't the girl for you.

>you.

^^ I'm assuming since your boy is military, you don't see him all that often. Even if you do see him relatively often, no way you see him as much as you do her. Every opportunity to chill with him should be taken, in that case.

She got an issue with that she's doing too much and isn't right.

even if the girl claims they support them 100%...

eventually they will get a "do whatever you want"

which will throw the whole weekend or week off.

I thought I was being clear.

But I assumed she would recall all the history I've told her about with my buddies from Jersey.

I let her know as soon as I knew. I didn't withhold any info.

Not sure how else, I could have gone about it.

Especially when it's a cat that you don't get to see very often. I think that's the key. It's not your boy from around the way that you kick it with every other weekend or something.

My girl will roll her eyes because she knows we're gonna get into some foolishness. And she'll tell me not to spend a ton of money. Shoot, sometimes she may even roll with us for an hour or 2.

But generally, she takes that time to drink a bottle of wine and binge watch "Real Housewives" or something.

but for some odd reason some SO's really get in their feelings and take it personally when you spend time without them.

I understand being upset it thugs up weekend plans but thats something you internalize IMO.

able to articulate why she's mad

ie

if you were just like hey, air force dude is gonna be in town this weekend so i'm gonna chill with him instead...she might be upset that you didnt 'ask' her if she minds if you cancel ya'll 'plans' bc xyz is in town.

That is understandable i suppose, but she should be able to explain that.

But we don't know if you have a history of dropping her for any and everything or how you told her this was going to happen.

when she and I first started dating, I was very inconsistent with my plans and time allocation.

That has since changed, (at least I feel it has, cause I've made it an effort to change) so there really hasn't been an argument about this for a long time.

*edit*

how I told her.

I got the texts from my friend asking to stay. I immediately called her at work, to give her the run down. How I just got the texts and that he is asking to stay at my place. Its last minute and since any time I have gone up to Jersey, his cousin, (also close friend) and he always put me up, I should say yes.
