So I'm out here in NYC waiting to go back home to Oakland. Flight delayed, along with the earlier flight that was JFK-SFO, so i managed to get on standby for the earlier flight, gonna arrive 30 min before my original arrival. Great deal, right?
No.
We board the plane and get to the runway.
Sit there for an hour before the pilot says they recalculated the flight path due to weather and Now they need to refuel. So we go back to the gate.
Wait for an hour to refuel with no update.
And the pilot finally says that due to his work contract, he's not allowed to work more than some number of hours, so because of that the flight is canceled.
5.5 hours after my flight was supposed to take off, and I just got to the free hotel room. Just found out my original flight DID depart 2 hours late. Gotto be in a cab at 530am (in 4 hours) to get to Newark for my flight home in the morning.
Damn.
Bright side: other than the hotel room (womp) I'm doing it with this ridiculous beautiful woman tryina visit her brother out in oakland.
2. "What airline are you flying?" In response to Reply # 0
This type of Monkiness happened to me Labor day wknd flying to Made in America from Orlando to Philly
I flew American Airlines
I was supposed to arrive in Philly @ 530
we boarded the plane then it rained profusely then we had to go back to the terminal then they said our flight was cancelled so we all hit the exit then once we exited the airport they said our flight was back on so then we had to hit TSA AGAIN...lol then we had to reboard then our pilot said he had flown too much in or something
to make a series of fails short we didnt get to philly until like 1030 that night
travelling is strenous.it should be a sport imo

That's how I do it as the benefits from flying far outweigh the rewards of traveling by bus. I need the extra hours saved by flying for productivity purposes.

if i understand this story correctly both flights were late and now instead of just being inconvenienced you got a night in a hotel smanging some broad.
they should reimburse you $100 and for all this shit you should get a voucher, i would say for roughly $300 toward future travel. complain and complain until they make it so.
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
