haven't smoked in a few years. attempting to get back into it. old connect changed #s. wouldn't really expect him to remember me anyway as i only knew him for a few months. i tend to be an off and on smoker. use for 6-12 months, off for 1-2 years

don't live in a place where medical is a possibility. in fact, the supreme court threw out our arguably "most restrictive in the country" abortion laws a few months ago so i don't think MM is anywhere near happening any time soon

so asking around work (no one i know smokes) i found 3 possibilities:

1) older coworker bragging AT WORK to my carpool buddy about getting "16" strains, maybe a pound total from last re-up. apparently this guy has been smoking for 40+ years. who knew. carpool buddy mentions to him i've been looking for a connect, asks if he can help me out. older CW wants no part of it, insisting that he doesn't want to fool with anyone outside of work, then backtracks and says he'll think about it, then proceeds to hem and haw about it for 4-5 days, finding reasons to not deal with me like, "he knows it's expensive, right?" and, "are you sure he smokes?" i save him the trouble and tell him to forget about it

2) other coworker who records with local rappers. she just went to sxsw to host a panel or something. easily the best chance. get a #, make contact, everything seems to be going well, i get asked "ywa," i respond, and then nothing for 2 days. no response to me at all. no idea what's going on. afaik didn't break any first contact etiquette. maybe he's just uninterested. who can say

3) carpool buddy's fresh out of jail childhood friend. not promising but he's the most responsive. has been in a town ~15 minutes away from me for about 4 hours, saying he was going to be in my area ~3 hours ago. his response to "OTW?" is "still in *insert bumfuck town here*"

i hate process this so much. i'm not ordering rare machined parts for an earth mover here. i just want something to calm my nerves for a few hours. i get that these guys have lives and that their profession isn't the easiest but god damn. this shouldn't be so haphazard
