i mean what other Film has dealt with Black and White love?

CrackHead Love?

Italian Women commentary?

Black Women Commentary?

middle class and upward mobility lifestyle?

the Good Reverend and Wife?

how has this film aged up against "New Jack City" in terms of when Wesley was in his prime and peak?

ALSO Would Jungle Fever been bigger were it not for Boyz n the Hood?

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

With perhaps the exception the devestating impact of crack on urban families and that eyetalian girl getting those hands for letting the Carthaginians sack Rome.

since this movie came out or it was so over the top when it came out but I don't think the interracial dating stuff is very reflective of how things are now.

Flipper left it all on the table, nigga went to work on that ass...

Spike was fucked up for telling his wife.

Nigga shoulda never tried to DATE that broad.

Italians really beat their daughters when they fuck a black guy. I know first hand, I grew up with them.

Halle played a crackhead a little too well.

Samuel Jackson was the truth in this movie

The scene with the Black women in the living room talking about interracial marriage was the shit, no script and
real as hell.

Those Paulie shop scenes were hilarious

My 2nd favorite Spike movie after Do The Right Thing.

Ruby Dee's hand wringing in the kitchen is an inside joke for me and my sisters.

The scene with the sisters talking about men is real and still relevant today.

We are still trying to recover from the crack era.

Flipper was a self hating pos...I know quite a few brothers like him.

Working class ethnic whites will choose racism over their class interests every time.

I still watch the movie on VHS. I love it.

When Gator would do that dance I'd run out the room laughing. I'm mad I took so long to watch it. I saw it in the 2000s.

it is disjointed, but now as we get to see Spike's oeuvre over 30 yrs, disjointed is an element of his work for better and worse.

i always took it as interracial DESIRE (not love) being less important than the real "Fever," crack nuking Black families.

Annabella Sciorra was so fine in that era
Sam and Halle were fantastic as crack heads
Ossie's character's fundamentalism always bothered me
and it's def 10x better than New Jack City, which is a cartoon IMO, and the worse of the pathological representations of intercity criminality in the 90s
