Most of the game cards are "majority rules" meaning you basically gotta argue every one.

The most heated ones:

Best Black Sitcom of all time: Martin, Fresh Prince, Cosby, Good Times

Best Female R&B Group of the 90's: SWV, En Vogue, TLC, Xscape

Best Male R&B Group of the 90's: Boyz II Men, Jodeci (I forget the other options, but this was the main debate)

Best Black Comedy of all time: Friday, Coming To America, Harlem Nights (I forget the last option)

Each one had strong debates because it was music heads and then comedians both in there...so it got to the point that we were even playing songs from the artists in there.

Might need to hide the knives and leave weapons in the car before playing though.

One was somewhat of a stay woke dude from my college. But it got very, very heated. Essentially, it was about who's worse...a rapper who raps about how much crack he sells, even though he doesn't do it (anymore)....vs the actual dope boys who are hood rich off selling dope to our people.

I know most OKP's would feel that the crack dealer is worse, but the dude had some good cases about how crack selling rappers, such as prime Jeezy, have had a huge influence in glamorizing that whole lifestyle.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was A GOOD movie

but the point of contention, IMO, was that they tried to fit way too much into the story

and ended up not doing alot of it justice, IMO

in particular, D.O.C.

having lived through that era, and being of an age where it actually meant something to me

the way I remembered it, D.O.C. was that dude

after NWA, he was NEXT

killed it with his album, BTW the formula still goes.

but he's depicted in the movie as just some hanger on

you don't even see him presented as an aritst in his own right

just some dude hanging around

we're at dinner, a professional dinner, my lady was entertaining clients, and invited me to join

somehow we got into this debate at the table

I guess we didn't realize how into the debate we were, until the rest of the table got REAL quiet

but yeah, they just crammed way too much into one movie

and I think they missed an opportunity to spin off biopics

another example was Cube

I have a hard time believing he just picked up a pen one day and wrote Friday

I really want a Cube biopic

whatever it is that he saw in the NWA contracts --> sucessfull solo career --> Hollywood franchise(s)

that story is one that I'm really interested in hearing told

+ muslim american

but yeah, anyway, that was the last debate I had.

---------------------------------------------------------------

If you can't understand it without an explanation

you can't understand it with an explanation

Cube writing it...they show that he just wrote the "You got knocked the fuck out!" line....but that line wasn't even in the script. Like most of the standout lines in there, that shit was all improvised. Chris Tucker wasn't even supposed to run up and say anything, but he did, and it was amazing.
