Never had bumps (and I'm prone) and it was the closest shave I got without using a traditional razor.

Don't use the foil part -- just the "teeth"

I've tried it all; electric razors, "Black man's" specialty razors, Magic Shave, anti-bump creams and lotions...etc. Nothing works for me except clippers, which don't give me a clean shave...just clean enough.

Cut too close and the hair curves under the skin when it grows back (leading to bumps). I use clippers for EVERYTHING now (don't even own any razors).

I shave to close I get bad ingrown hairs. So I use the electric razors to get close but not enough to give me the ingrown hairs.

my hair is too coarse to just use the razor. The only way I've found to not get razor bumps is to use andis T and that wahl 5 star followed by neosporin and something with Salicylic acid (acne cream).

That shit works great.

Flora/Babz put me on to the neosporin trick.
