my mom is 5 years cancer free today. my parents dont know much of what I've been through emotionally and physically since then, I would never concern them unless it was anything terminal
my wife is the most responsible person I've ever known. she's hated her job since forever but they think super highly of her.
went to the doctor yesterday, my health is improving. One more GI consult in February and I may be placed on cholesterol medicine depending on what they find, but other than that everything is mostly straight. great health insurance has been a blessing
energy is everything, I no longer have any for bitter, negative or dumb people online or in real life. sadness is real (hence "I just need to get to next week" in the subject) but I try not to spread that to affect others (anymore)

Went to lunch with some coworkers yesterday and walked past a homeless man. This same guy was my supervisor 3 years ago at the first job when I moved to the city. I remember my first month being so broke I had to walk home from work (like 140 blocks). Flash forward to now and I aint where I want to be but I'm not where I don't want to be either. Definitely thankful and ready to kill it this year.

It's funny too cause dude was/is mad chill. He was a great supervisor, and I don't think he has the personality to alienate anybody. He may have "chosen" homelessness, or at least didn't give a fuck about being part of this machinery of capitalism anymore. I don't know, I didn't get to pick his brain or nothing but it definitely made me look at that situation differently. Then again though it's New York, and all it takes is losing a job to lose your apartment, so it's not that far fetched.

And since time is an illusion, I'm excited for Donuts are Forever 10, it'll be my fourth and I hope to stay the whole time. On seven I had to rush to catch my bus and left early, eight we had just gotten engaged everyone was buying us drinks and we got black out drunk and left early, nine she got a concussion from falling on ice and wanted to make it out for an hour or so and we .... left early. Here's to breaking that pattern.

my sister's used to make fun of me but I didn't care. I grew up on soul, funk and loved rap and R&B but I always had room for the white shit.
I keep kicking myself in the ass for not sticking with my people in the music biz but I was tired of that shit at the time. I left because I was going to die from sex or drinking.
anyway... it's been a few years at the same guy and I'm over it. I need to create my own gig. I have to find a way to focus on creating my brand.
only problem is having mouths to feed. I can't gamble and lose but then again, if I don't try it I will be miserable. I'm going through the motions and I need to get out of this creative funk.
I have a few freelance gigs in the works but I need to be more aggressive at finding my next project or projects instead of waiting til I finish one.
