in the hi-fi world...

JayBird is well respected and recommended and has a great product in that price range.

Personally...unless she's a serious audiophile....I'd recommend a much cheaper product...unless it's something you're trying to inherit for yourself after she stops using them lol...

I kinda want to hear what they sound like, but don't really want them for myself.

I'll look into the jaybirds. I just wish I could sample headphones before purchasing.

Also, if she has a Samsung phone, check for products that are AptX compliant..

I've owned a lot of headphones from this brand. Price point to quality ratio is top notch. Also you don't feel bad if you lose or break them:
http://www.amazon.com/MEE-audio-AF18-Bluetooth-Earphones/dp/B014MUGXLS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449772224&sr=1-1&keywords=meelectronics+wireless

My wife generally likes this style of wireless headphones. She uses the motorola ones, but I can't recommend them in good faith because both sets that I gave her eventually failed in the same fashion. The plantronics appear to have a better track record though:
http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-BackBeat-Fit-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00KJLMBQQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449772545&sr=1-1&keywords=backbeat

Jaybirds. Good ratings...but I don't care for the price:
http://www.amazon.com/JayBird-BlueBuds-Sport-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00AIRUOI8/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449772691&sr=1-7&keywords=jaybird+x2

He's an audiophile AND fitness head, so I trust his opinion highly.
I've owned previous Plantronics gear and been very pleased with the sound quality. Personally I don't like that particular style of sport headphones because they don't work well with bicycle helmets. My wife liked them because they work well with her natural hair style.....that stiff band on the back sits off of the neck. Also she likes that it doesn't pick up noise vibrations from rubbing like the other styles do. Looks like those plantronics are designed to be water/sweat resistant too..which is a bonus

my wife's the same with the natural hair, so she'd prolly be cool with that style.

I can vouch that they sound great. She says the biggest issue she had was putting the proper size ear gels on. Had to go on several runs with the different sizes before determining which worked best.

These are hands down, dollar for dollar, the loudest and most durable headphones I have ever owned, when I was in my gym heyday, I would go through ONE a year. and that was at 21 dollars for one pair.

when it comes to workout specific headphones. Not a question of IF...but a matter of WHEN they're going to bite the bullet IMO.

Wireless are much much safer for gym use IMO though. But for jogging, etc...wired can still be an ideal match.

They come in different colors and are cheap as shit. You ain't trying to "experience" the music while you're working out, just go cheap with halfway decent sound and be done with it.

didn't get my wife's yet, but I think it'll be the plantronics that fluid mentioned. just gotta find the price I wanna pay.

however, I got me a fresh pair of monster adidas bluetooths. I think I'm finally done headphone shopping for me.

these things sound great. strong bass that doesn't drown out other sounds. I need to go running in them to be sure about staying in my ears, but so far so good.

wifey may end up with a pair of these too.
