"Poll question: Would you invite someone you went on 1 date w/ to TG?"
Fri Nov-27-15 03:11 PM by lightworks

Friend went on one OKC date with someone last week.

She liked him, not sure if he liked her.

But she wanted to be nice and invited him go to her friends with her for thanksgiving in case he didn't have any one to hang with since he was staying in town.

He said thanks but no thanks and said she was sweet for offering but that he was gonna hang with friends.

I personally think inviting someone to a holiday after one date and such a recent one date is crazy. Like even if he just liked her as a friend I still think it's weird.

What sayeth y'all?

But it's also unfair to bring a strangers to a friends house. They could be a klepto, sloppy drunk, or drink up all the good liquor, bring nothing and take a plate home type etc.

and I knew how they got down I would definitely invite someone I just met who was new in town if the date went well.

I'm a guy but I can see how a woman would do it as well.

I wouldnt invite the to meet family tho unless it was some love at first site, soul mate, fine as wine type ish...

however, if it's a Friendsgiving and they were just going out to eat, then it's not issue. I wouldn't invite a dude to family but out to eat with friends is cool

But, there are exceptions to the rule. I do not think it is "weird" to invite a first time date to a TG, if the date went extremely well and the couple hit it off. Also, it depends on the circumstances that lead to the invite. I think your friend meant no harm by inviting him to a friends TG.

Her efforts tells me that she liked him enough to want to be around him during a time when people usually are with family or with a spouse/S.O. I also doubt your friend would invite any guy to hang out with her friends, so...

I am surprised people haven't accused him of being gay by respectfully declining the invite and choosing to hang with his friends instead of a previous date.
