Charlie Sheen is set to make a “revealing personal announcement” on the “Today” show Tuesday morning.
In a Monday press release, the NBC morning show stated that the “Two and a Half Men” alum will sit down with “Today’s” Matt Lauer for an exclusive interview, live from Studio 1A in New York City. Following the Tuesday morning broadcast, Sheen’s revealing interview will be available on Today.com.
Though NBC did not specify what Sheen’s announcement would entail, the National Enquirer reports the actor is HIV positive.
Posted Monday morning, the Enquirer printed Sheen’s name on their website, though the tabloid first “exposed how a notorious Hollywood womanizer was hiding a deadly health crisis” last month in an anonymous story titled, “Hollywood Superstar’s Desperate Battle With Aids!” which did not reveal Sheen’s identity. Now, the Enquirer is set to publish the full story in its Nov. 18 issue, which — according to the outlet — will expose a “multi-million dollar cover-up that will rock Tinseltown.”
Variety has reached out to Sheen’s reps and “Today” for comment on the National Enquirer’s report.

*I was in Richmond for the funeral of my mom's favorite cousin this past weekend. She died of AIDS. Her boyfriend was a heroin addict who died of AIDS a few years ago. She died because she was ignorant, ashamed and depressed. If she were committed to treatment she'd be alive today and would probably be alive another decade or two.

largely b/c even in 2015 it's hard for some to accept the idea that heterosexual men who have sex w/women CAN contract HIV via vaginal intercourse. especially when the men are out there doing big numbers...especially if they have some other STI that could result in them having open sores on their genitals...especially when they engage in risky behavior like doing hardcore drugs while having sex which can impact their decision-making.
but Charlie might've also been out there injecting drugs and possibly sharing needles. i dunno.
i do know that IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW HE GOT IT. if he has it. it doesn't matter how he got it. but i expect there'll be lots of talk about that issue - figuring out how he got it.

we can protect ourselves from HIV infection w/a daily pill. the pill has few side effects and most ppl don't experience any. the cost is covered by most insurance plans prescription drug programs.
as related to Charlie...if his viral load is 'undetectable' there's little chance he will transmit the virus to any of his sex partners. he can keep his viral load 'undetectable' via medz and good health practices.

I tell my patients whether you're on PrEP or not, if you can guarantee your HIV+ partner has been on meds for at least 1 year & undetectable for 6 months which you can confirm with their doctor during a joint visit their PCP.

^^ he had just been fired from 2.5M and was in the throes of a serious drug problem. the 'WINNING' shit could've easily been fueled by depression, anxiety, cocaine, alcohol, and steroids. it didn't have to be some manic reaction to a recent HIV diagnosis.

we don't know when he learned he's poz. he has said since he's learned of his status he has informed all of his sex partners. of course, he couldn't have informed any of them before he learned about his status.
in any event, Bree has been tested and is negative - so whatever happened between them didn't result in transmission of HIV.

Sheen's viral load has been undetectable for several yrs now, per his doctor. it may have been so when he had sex w/those women after having disclosed his status to them. they may have chosen to have sex w/o condoms b/c they understood the risk. also, he said each of them consulted w/his doctor. doctors and other health professionals routinely advise sero-discordant couples that the risk of HIV transmission is significantly reduced when the poz member of the couple is on medz and has an undetectable viral load. the couple can engage in sex w/o condoms w/o much risk of transmission. and if the neg member is also on PrEP then the risk of transmission is reduced even further. so when i hear that part of his story i assume those women made an informed choice and i'm not surprised by it.
also, those women may have already been poz themselves.
