So....back in the olden days Shesus and I were going thru some financial troubles. Car note got behind...waaaay behind...but we had a garage spot and weren't going anywhere that wasn't secured so we didn't sweat it too tough.

Anyway...eventually the car went into repossession and occasionally, we'd get calls from people trying to get the car.

Shesus would always answer the calls...explain that she had lost her job and we would work to get on schedule as soon as we could.

Which leads us to this ONE particular dude that REAL reckless. Called our house at like 11pm talking about "WAKE UP!!! WAKE UP!!! PAY YO BILL OR I'M GONNA COME GET THIS CAR!!!"

I come into the room and Shesus is livid. She turns to me and says "I'm about to make this dude's life a LIVING HELL!!"

A post goes up on OKP with the guys name and phone number....and we asked every available OKP to start calling this dudes number repeatedly.

PlanetInfinite called this motherfucker multiple times...breathing heavy and saying "PIIIIIIIIICKLEEEEES" over and over again.

THEN....Shesus puts the following ad up on Craigslist

"Me...6'2", Blond, 225...ripped....you.....hot and bothered and ready to pound....call me...no questions....I WANT IT NOW!!!! 773-555-1212"

Downloaded a picture of a male model and everything

This motherfucker called our house LIVID after his phone started blowing up off the hook.

Needless to say, he never called back.

It's a Saturday night and Club Artesian is popping.

I had been talking about you internet folks, so when I get off of work I hit up JaHolla and my dude Fathom 9 so we can go play nice with the animals.

By the time we get there...things are winding down everybody is heading over to Dave and Busters (was this a Re?)....anyway...

So me, JaHolla and Fathom 9 walk outside and see Shesus sitting in the front seat of her car.

We get to Dave and Buster's...no Shesus. I hit her up the next day like "Yo....I thought you was going to D&B's...what happened?"

Her: Dude....J_Sun had fell thru with Brownies. I was sitting in my car trying to get it together. Your dude Fathom 9 was scaring the shit out of me!
Me: Fathom? He's just intense....he cool people.
Her: Well....nigga I couldn't feel my face. I sat there for an hour waiting for my sister to pick me up so I could get home....

So...it's the Detroit RE and everybody is figuring out their housing situation....getting rides in...all of that.

Anyway, Lunch had originally hooked a ride up with 3030 to get to the Re in the D....

Day of Departure...Lunch hits me up HEATED!!!

Me: What's good?
Lunch: Yo....Jose left me, man....
Me: Word? What happened...?

So what happened?

Apparently, 3030 had originally agreed to give Lunch a ride in...but a few his fellow passengers weren't looking too kindly upon riding all the way from the DMV to the D with him.

What killed it for Lunch was when he finally got 3030 on the phone and heard kec in the back laughing at his predicament. (Speculation on WHAT was being laughed at...but that was the interpretation)

Anyway...Lunch hits me up and he's screaming bloody murder....how hands are about to be thrown...how he's got ANOTHER ride and is about to slide into town on the sneak and wreak havoc.

Me: Oh...I'M NOT MISSING THIS SHIT!!! My ride cancelled to but I'm catching a Greyhound....I'll be there.
Lunch: Bet

Anyway...soon after that conversation...word gets out to the attendees that Lunch has found another ride.

NIGGA....you woulda thought Deebo was riding up on his bicycle.

Me and Lunch link up at Enlightened1 and Sleepy's room...and, I shit you not...no less than 5 people walked up to us like "Please....please...don't hurt 3030"

Meanwhile...on the way in...Lunch and I had already discussed and deaded the whole "knock this nigga the fuck out" part of our conversation....but it was still hilarious listening to people trying to talk him out of that shit.

And...from that day forward...the phrase "Don't Leave Your Lunch" has had a special meaning to our collective.

one, because I pretty much rolled with Jose the entire RE weekend. He scooped me from the airport in the Ac(ura). I heard a bit of the story, but of course got it a different way. He and I met a year or two before this happened. He rode down to ATL with me in '03 for the RE while I was going to visit my family and pick my son up for the summer. We cracked up the whole way down there and back. We stayed in contact for years but eventually lost touch after I moved back to B'more and got more busy. All in all though, one of the best cats I've ever met.

So I'm new to OKP at this point and The Roots are coming to town.

Everybody is talking online about linking up and rolling to the House of Blues.

I get off the job and LordLadyPharr meets me on the corner of State and Lake.

I introduce myself and I think a few other OKPs meet us there (one of which I'm certain was J_Sun)....and we ride over to the concert.

Push our way to the front and the show is in full swing when Pharr decides, halfway through the show....that her feet hurt.

Pharr: Hey...who's tall....YOU!!!
**grabs me by the scruff of my collar**
Pharr: STAND HERE!!!!

Pharr then proceeds to lean back on me.

I've become her personal backrest for the rest of the show.

So far what I got was:

- Homemade cookies were being sold on OKP. One poster said they got some from said poster and they were good.

- Other regular posters bought the cookies, also claim they were good.

- someone said they tasted store bought.

- Another poster had theirs hand-delivered when they went to Detroit (I assume CookieGate lady was from Detroit), claims they were still warm as if fresh out the oven.

- However, a shipment received from one poster had a receipt from Dollar General for 15 packs of cookies in their package. It appeared the cat was out of the bag at this point.

- To make matters worse, every other day or so a *new* poster would make a *new* post about said cookies.

pretty sure I was posting when it went down, but it could have been at a point where I was primarily a Lesson poster or one of the various times I went on hiatus.

-the Wetlands was a little dive/underground club that would come alive every Sunday after 10pm...hosted by the Roots, Black Lily would showcase local (or not) unsigned talent
-first okp I ever met there was Improv...he introduced me to everyone else...it felt like an exclusive club
-Melanism showed me (and probably other okps) how to sneak in the back door for free, while others waited in the line out front
-The roots treated OKPs like VIP...they would shout us out and sometimes let some of us get on stage and freestyle etc
-we had our own little VIP section in the back where we'd chill and throw up the OKP sign with our fingers occasionally
-other folks were like "who the hell are they and why are they special?" LOL
-Jill Scott would come and sing, before she was famous, and chill with us in the crowd after..Erykah too
-Jaguar, JazzyFatNastees and NouRa (what was her band name?) were regulars at Black Lily
-one time Quest surprised us and showed up afterward at Waverly Diner and paid for alot of our food

I remember one night when I worked the late shift there was a thread with Quest and angieee going back and forth and Quest posted a pic of Angie back in the day looking busted and she threatened to shut the site down if he didn't remove the pic. one of the best nights on here ever
