Telling the same joke as someone else isn't like playing basketball You don't just "steal" somebody's skill on the court. You have to work at it. You can steal jokes tho. This comparison only works if people are only accusing Amy of copying him because she was really good. That's not the case. It's because she told the same joke.

I'd have loved it if she'd said outright that she was referencing another joke and pointing out its misogyny. Bc that was her point and if she'd copped to a reference she would avoid whatever may come of this 'exposure'.
I'm a huge Schumer fanboy or that I view her a funnier than Patrice, because neither is true. I only laughed twice at her hour special this past Saturday. I'm just hoping her intent for doing the joke wasn't out of malicious intent. She strikes me as someone that's smart enough to know it's a bad look to purposefully steal jokes from a recently deceased comic, especially for her first HBO one hour special.

to someone saying she never saw the bit. And for those that aren't aware, Chris Rock directed the special, so that means there's at least two comics that didn't see the bit. I'm of the opinion that she had her own POV on the bit, so it's not 100% thievery.
I saw a tweet browsing the web from Jim Norton defending her as well. I doubt think she's going to catch heat from other comics from this incident.

For starters, she knew Patrice, so I'm sure being accused of stealing his jokes means a lot to her. And she's a fairly good comic, so I'm sure being accused of stealing material in general will strike a cord with her. I mean we have all heard dozens of these. Picking the same two makes me think there is same source (which doesn't mean she stole or Patrice is the originator). It could mean it's the same dirty joke told by comedians at the back of the club.

I couldn't take Opie going on and on about the same thing. Jimmy too although he did make me laugh with the Spider comment. Op's voice is deeper now too.
Been listening since they were played on WJFK in the DC area. Followed them to XM. The show was radio gold. Ant was a bit too racist and it was the same shit every day got tired of hearing it.
I blame the lawyers limiting what they could do on the show. The stunts stopped and it kinda went downhill. I still listen every now and then but no where near as much as I used to.
