Shit can come off wrong to other people that interact with each other. I think I don't get along with introverted nerds for this reason. Too hard to figure them out because they don't talk, so fuck trying to interact with them.

Generally, quiet people are observing others and a huge component of observing is listening, which a lot of talkative people grossly undervalue.

People who flap off at the gums without thinking or knowing what it is they're talking about get a bad rep too - deservedly.

To an extrovert, it could appear like that quiet person is sitting around judging other folks, or is a work spy and can't be trusted, or thinks they are too good to interact with other people.

I feel you on the talkative types too.

If it's a job interview, your boss, a prospective date, or a networking opportunity and you come off like a *insert pejorative here* then it is your problem that they thought like that. No one but you knows all of the good thoughts that are in your head, it's up to you to express them.

I'm a grownup with responsibilities. I'm just apt to avoid mundane social interactions. Whatever the consequences are of that, I'm willing to live with them. I don't feel unloved, unappreciated, etc.. I don't have any disdain for chatty people. It's just not me.

and introverts/shy/sensitives here aren't seen as people who can really take charge or defend themselves verbally/physically, among other things. We are seen as weak when we don't speak up, when most of the time the case is this: we don't like confrontation. We know if we challenge someone, they'll go on and on and on. And that is emotionally draining.

All my life I've been watching dudes do the peacock routine, going above and beyond their thirst levels to get at a female, only to crash and burn when they run out of gas and/or she gets hip to their game

At which point I just scoop her up and it's a wrap. Thanks to showoffs with no future in their frontin (c)

I've been accused of being anti-social when its absolutely not the case. I think Im naturally quiet but sometimes I wonder if on a subconscious level something made me this way. Compared to my siblings Im the opposite.

And yeah on many occassions people have said something out the way to me because they wanna get a read on me- but Im just chilling.

A lotta times I keep to myself because I have this big self-conscious thing where I dont wanna feel like Im boring people because Im not talking enough. Shit it has been plenty of times where folks will talk and talk and Im just there cuz I know they like to talk and thats cool, speak yo peace.

I like being among people and crowds but not of them. Hell, I want to go to clubs or wherever and just hear music and see the atmosphere. I dont wanna talk but I dont think I could go without worrying if people are thinking "whats up wit that guy in the corner?"

Just one quiet person's perspective.

Real talk. Loud people are looking to people for everything... including esteem
and security. Giving them nothing makes them nervous and, therefore, distrustful
of you.
