How many rappers made classic albums, then grew and evolved into something greater 5 years later? The idea of rappers growing and evolving is the silliest shit ever.

Outkast dropped back to back hands down classics with Atliens & Aquemini. 5 years later we got Speakerboxx/The Love Below. So you can miss me with the growth and evolution, I'll continue to listen to Atliens & Aquemini.

Did Killa Mike have anything that was regarded as a classic before he linked with El-P? And did he "evolve"?
Ghostface dropped Supreme Clientele & Bulletproof Wallets, that was his apex. Five years later he dropped "Fishscale". "Fishscale" is better than Clientele or Wallets? If anything Ghost became more basic and generic, how is that growth & evolution?
Royce the 5'9 has great albums? Please point me to them. Or just point me to the first one.
If we say "Food & Liquor" is a classic, and "Lasers" dropped 5 years later, then mentioning Lupe doesn't support your point.
Kendrick.... if you want to argue Section 80 and TBAP are both classics and he grew & evolved during that time period, I have no issue with that. That's the only one you listed that is relevant to the discussion & supports your point.
It really doesn't happen very often. Rappers are better off giving the people what they came to love in the first place, until they don't love it anymore.

All of the dudes i mentioned had 1st or 2nd albums better than Ross and 5 years later they all made music that had evolved from where they started
Ross will never make a Death Is Certain or anything approaching the quality of the Bar Exams btw
