Andre Johnson released by Houston
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000476574/article/andre-johnson-released-by-houston-texans

Johnson still had two years and $21.5 million remaining on his deal, making a trade prohibitive.

Jake Long released by St. Louis
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000477539/article/jake-long-released-by-st-louis-rams

Long had $4 million in guaranteed money coming his way if he was still on the Rams' roster by March 14. Instead, St. Louis cuts ties and saves $8 million in cap space.

Reggie Bush released by Detroit
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000474134/article/reggie-bush-released-by-detroit-lions

Bush, 29, was due $3.25 million on the heels of a disappointing season in which he battled a three-month ankle injury. The tea leaves suggest he was unwilling to accept a pay cut to stay in Detroit.

Brian Hartline released by Miami
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000474565/article/miami-dolphins-cut-wide-receiver-brian-hartline

The 28-year-old signed a five-year, $30.775 million contract in 2013 and was released with three seasons left on the deal.

If they cut you in the NFL, they only have to pay the guaranteed money (usually the "signing bonus").

I'm fine w/ him resting up since he's coming off an injury as long as he's staying in shape. Once them game checks kick in he won't forego them.

He is underpaid, but I hope he's not holding his breath about extra money. He might get A LITTLE more if he's lucky, but he won't likely get what he's worth...not now anyway.

I think his agent is playing a game w/ Kam's livelihood that he won't win.

But, it's all business. No one should be getting butthurt about it because both parties are on reasonable ground. Kam deserves more money so he's w/in his rights to ask/hold out. Seahawks expect him to honor the contract he signed, which is totally fine.

Seahawks don't have much cap room to work wit unless they cut someone major-ish and Michael Bennett is also fouling up any shot Kam has of getting more dough because he wants more money too and he'd have a fit of Kam got re-structured w/ 3 years left when he only has 2 years left.

Someone has to take a pay cut if they want to keep the LOB together. Does Russell restructure this offseason to keep them together? By restructure I mean take the Brady deal where they basically guarantee his contract for taking less money i.e. here's 10 million a year guaranteed for the lifetime of your career in Seattle.

Kam earned it.

If you mean another 10 mill plus another year, yeah, I guess that would reduce his salary cap hit a little but I don't know if he'd even take it bc it would be diluting his earning power while he's still on the upswing. That's a move you make when you've already had a couple years of peak earnings and have your financial security on lock.

I'm sure Seattle thought about Kam and other players when structure Russels contract.

Kam has a right to try and get paid but more than likely he balks once those fines start adding up.

Maybe he is getting advice from Revis... it might work.

because once a team wins a superbowl, everyone wants to get paid and because of the salary cap everyone can't get new contracts

is what makes it so popular in Vegas.

if they had dynasty's like the 80's Vegas wouldn't see those numbers on the books.

most of the bets aren't made in Vegas, they're made in countries like Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, Columbia, Venezuela etc. where all the *illegal* sportsbooks are located...
