never really thought about it before this post, but i've noticed a few @s at the end of posts lately.
i guess i also just assumed that he didn't create all that shit. i mean, there are many that post funny memes (beigecardigan, 50shadesofblacc, etc) on IG and i don't really think they came up with it, just that they repost it.

Which is not true, he is a cheeseball internet aggregator in many ways, yes, but half the people busting his balls fill every account they have with memes and other reposted crap. He also posts credit for a lot of stuff now, although that is too little, too late.
I knew his Comedy Central thing had fallen apart a while ago. His weird branding thing and being famous for being famous strikes me as corny but less corny than most of the other people doing it. Dude is kinda funny, but also has a very punchable face.

And the problem is the average person wouldn't know; hence why he was getting paid crazy cash. There's a shitload of AS funny internet aggregator profiles, it's just that since he claimed the work is his he was able to build his brand/name on being a genuine comedian.

He would screenshot it and purposely edit out the peoples names, lol. He would even elaborate on the joke like he wrote it. That's why everyone is tripping, not cause he's reposting. Like you said, everyone reposts.

Meaning, he uses other people's content to draw traffic to his page. For instance, he posted video of Eddie Griffin giving a PSA... but instead of just sharing the video from Eddie's page, he downloaded it and simply posted it on his own page. That way, when people click the video and comment, it doesn't draw traffic to Eddie's page, but to DeLorean's... and most people don't really pay attention to that. DeLorean does that shit often. If it's just a random video that no one created, that's no issue, but using other folks' content and videos to build your name is wack as hell
It's because he's a struggling R&B artist who uses his platform to get his followers hooked in to a pyramid scheme.

I knew him when he was just chubby jew...my brother went to school with him in grade school and high school and even as a kid, dude was just quick-witted and funny dude. I will be one of the first to admit that he should have been giving credit whenever possible, he fucked up.
at the same time, this is the internet….can we really ever know where everythings original source material comes from? that is one of the pitfalls of the internet, once something is out there….its out there.
all the articles I have been reading on this ‘scandal’ fail to mention his persona outside of instagram….like one of the posters mentioned before, he was in a hip hop group on duck down records, has created a whole series of hilarious videos and has been a frequent guest reporter on E and Crosby Press, has his own wine label. dude has been around doing his thing way before instagram….that was just the tool that got him millions of followers.
i read a report in rolling stone where they speak to some of the people he took un-credited posts from and they were all talking about how outraged they are and the only way he can make things right is to cut them a check…..as if it was their post out of his thousands of posts that is what made him a personality that brands are willing to put money into.
Also, I have yet to see one mention of beloved social media re-poster George Takei in any of these discussions….and since I follow both accounts, I often see Takei post the same things I’ve seen on Fat Jew’s account weeks earlier, both uncredited.
at the end of the day we have people dropping bombs, hoarding insane levels of wealth, destroying the planet, killing innocent and unarmed people, and somehow this dude becomes public enemy #1 for the day?

If he just sat there posting for his followers just for the fun of it, cool. But thats not what he was doing it, he made it a business and a big part of his career. Its like nobody cares if you do a fun cover off a song on youtube like millions of other people, but if you're selling shitload of albums for cash, acting like they are your original songs you being a social media joke for the week is gonna be the least of your problems.
