"Self Published Writers - I put together a weekly newsletter just for you"
Fri Jul-31-15 10:59 AM by dapitts08

Many of you know that I am a freelance graphic/web designer.
Over the past year or so, more and more of my clients have been self published authors.
This led me to begin to research the industry and identify popular blogs and voices in the industry.

So instead of hoarding all the valuable articles I come across I decided to start a weekly newsletter.

If you are a self published author or interested in the self publishing industry you may want to check it out.

I am only on issue #2 but you can check it out and/or subscribe here: http://selfpubweekly.com/

The issue comes out every Friday at 11 am.

edit: I am on twitter too: https://twitter.com/selfpubweekly

I decided to experiment and move to a sunday dispatch to see if it is better.

I feel like most people are winding down on Friday and since the newsletter contains a bunch of actionable content it maybe better to get it at the beginning of the week.

I also added pictures to this issue....at first I wanted the newsletter to be minimalist and straight to the point with just headlines and brief summaries....but face it...we are a visual people so I have added one image to each section.

Changed up the branding too. Needed to bump it up a notch. I can already see the positive impact that has had.

We'll see if the analytics improve with all of these changes. I really want to put out valuable content that folks ACTUALLY use to improve as a writer. I know packaging and timing is important for that so this is the perfect time to experiment while the subscriber base is pretty low.

the layout and design of the newsletter look very good.

I don't know what your numbers are, but I hope the letter can become lucrative for you.

If you plan on participating in NaNoWriMo...this is a good issue to check out.

Cheers!

Sidenote: I am hoping to launch a full website with these type of resources/articles for those looking to self-publish their work.
The goal is to have it done by Nov 1st (i.e. NaNoWriMo) so if you have any thoughts or suggestions for what you would like to see in that website feel free to hit my inbox.
