Granted, I don't follow the West super closely, but every time I hear him, his message is consistent. He advocates acting out of moral and spiritual conviction as opposed to political pressure. Not sure how anyone can hate on that, even if you feel it's impossible.

He could have called out the POTUS as a coward for not speaking up on critical race issues, and gotten the same point across in that 2min interview. Instead the rhetoric overshadowed the nuance he intended to communicate re: white supremacy.

He didn't waste any words and got down to the heart of his point. Agree or disagree, I'd counter your sentiment by saying he's intelligent enough to know when to skillfully use that sort of verbiage.

....he said some smart things but yes, it got buried under his "tradition" to be more "theater" than "thought" -- but he's admittedly struggled with that all his life. Yes, he's over the top at times but it seems like his digs at Obama WHEN SALIENT are still criticized as if he's hurt when instead he's speaking to that Christ message he speaks about frequently in his Reader.
