tend to fit into a certain archetype, an archetype that *I* deem cunty.
should I elaborate further?
I'm pretty sure you're picking up what I'm putting down.
ya know wut, fuckit.
They're pretentiously eccentric, snobbish and more than not insanely elitists yet feign in touchness with the pulse of whatever so called "hip & trendy" place they co opt.

One of the reasons I keep my artwork very private is because I can't stand dealing with "artsy scenesters", especially other artists (and I have one that's on the way down that path in my family) and particularly those clowns that make those multi panel living room pieces with hyper pretentious names like "The Name for God on the Lips and Hearts of Children" or some other drivel like that.

it isn't meant to be understood by everyone, only the artist and those on a similar wavelength (the problem with hip hop is most of it isn art anymore, it's made for mass consumption)
so yeah, exclusivity, hipness and pretentiousness often go in the same box. foodies might look down on others because there's an art to they're knowledge base
in a perfect world it would be each one teach one, but people also get insecure just from you knowing more than them

when it comes to art of any kind, everybody sees/hears/feels whatever they see/feel/hear. art is 100% subjective. there's nothing to "get", imo.
art gallery openings are such fun events because folks are there talking about everything EXCEPT for the actual art lol...in fact, half the time, they come for the free booze, fashion and social scene
i dunno...perhaps it's me. perhaps I never feel excluded because i feel like i belong everywhere i go. *shrug*
