"MP3 players with wifi besides iPod?"
Fri Jun-05-15 10:18 AM by quikfit

We're opening up a restaurant and need a music player with wifi capability.
My go-to for personal use is iPod, but they aren't making them with a lot of storage space anymore. The more GB the better.
Suggestions?

And from there you'll likely need to plan on streaming your music from an outside source unless you get a tablet that's capable of holding an SD card. Samsung tablets do.

Best Buy has this on sale for an acceptable price:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-8-4-16gb-black/3715001.p?id=1219093181535&skuId=3715001

If you get an OTG cable you can just plug a high capacity thumb drive into it and have a whole grip of capacity...BUT you can't charge it while that's plugged in...

..its important to know the laws governing licensing music for use in public businesses in your area.

hopefully you've already done your due diligence in this area. if not, here's an article posted a few years ago that covers the basics:

a lot of people might not know the ins & outs, or that they have to do that at all.
I used to work in music copyright, so those bases are covered.

That way, you can hook up the largest hard drive necessary to it.

You could even use a used computer of any necessary size.

Is this behind the counter that you control?

or will these be positioned for custoemr interaction?

If it's behind the counter than a cheap Android phone coupled with an external hard drive is your cheapest bet.

Buy a Moto E or Moto G (I got a locked to Verizon Moto Elast week for $29.99) , buy a USB cable http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Adapter-compatible-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00871Q5PI/ref=sr_1_1?tag=at88-20&ie=UTF8&qid=1415604596&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+otg, an external HD and

OR, buy a DNLA/Streaming network hard drive http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-WDBCTL0030HWT-3TB-Personal-Storage/dp/B00EVVGAC6 and use it to store and stream the music.

have a device that can handle it.

throw an xbox 360, connect it to some old PC with a thousand USB drives.

there are a million ways to do this.
