Some drugs definitely should NOT be legalized. But many of them should be legalized and properly regulated. Had you narrowed it down to one of them (marijuana being the obvious first choice) I'd have been unable to answer, because both weed and prostitution should be legalized.

and some say it leads to less users due to some bullshit that i can't remember right now.

but IMO a bunch of crack heads and heroin addicts roaming the streets blazed out of their mind without a care in the world of being arrested isn't a good thing.

if you that taken by drugs/addiction you're not really concerned with arrest. you're not really concerned with anything but being high. legalizing just makes it where they *can't* be arrested just for possession.

do you see much illegal activity related to the manufacture or distribution of liquor?

^^ that's why. those are the benefits.

there would still be a black market for drugs as there's still a black market for booze...but that market is MUCH smaller than it was when booze sale was prohibited by law. and the amount of violence related to that black market is minimal.

legalization of drugs would effectively kill the black market which would reduce crime. also, if drugs are legalized then we'll see fewer ppl jailed for drug-related offenses (at least sale and possession). which would greatly benefit communities that have been ravaged by rampant incarceration.

fuck you.

provide another stream of tax revenue.

reduce street violence/murders.

but most importantly, make it easier for me to get weed without sweating arrest.

a significant drop in the crime and addiction rate

for some reason, people are less interested when its legally available

also, legalizing drugs would ensure safety standards, most people overdose on the cut, not the actual drug

As such, his educational opportunity will be better. Also, his parents won't have such a hard time getting and keeping a job (no more drug arrests dogging them, and no more surprise drug tests) so he likely won't need the $200 a week, because his family will likely be better off.

why not allow people with experience in the drug trade to be the ones employed when it is legalized & legitimized?

there are many flaws in this idea but it's workable

the war on drugs is too costly...

the only issue i foresee is will they be able to compete with street trafficking and what will it do to the importing of drugs?

the end of the war on drugs would have the largest impact as a net positive imho...

but it brings up obvious other issues...it's unlikely we'd be willing to produce locally with how cheap it is too import from South America and Asia...so there would still likely be a black market...

i dunno
