People have been coming to my desk all damn morning. I can't get any work done because folks want to crowd around my space and gab---the thing is they're not even talking to me for the most part. I just so happen to sit in a corner away from foot traffic and prying eyes.

I've managed to reduce the contents of my 2 bedroom apartment to fit into a 6x12 storage unit. When I say that I got rid of sh*t, I really really got rid of stuff.

The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow. I so wanted to be there this year but moving at the end of this month and then going to Chi at the beginning of next month makes for a complicated schedule.
I have already placed my bets (TwinSpires mobile app) and if I happen to disappear from this great forum for a couple weeks, you'll know why...Greasy hit it big. LOL
The Kentucky Oaks is today and I've placed a small wager on that as well. Nothing major as I haven't really been keeping up with the fillies this racing season. I have Birdatthewire to win it with Condo Commando, Stellar Wind (she manages to alway falter right at the line after a strong start) and OceanWave (if paced right, can actually beat the pack at the last 1/8 mile.). If this line wins, I'm buying a VW bug and enjoying my summer.

I need to lose 10 lbs. Now that my allergy season is almost passed, I am about to start hitting the pavement and getting my daily run on.
with that said, I need to buy new running shoes---yet another thing I plan on attempting to do this busy weekend.
--------- Salmon
I realized that the only thing worse than packing is the fact that you have to unpack this sh*t eventually. I had two boxes on my sunroom that have been unopened since I moved into my apartment in 2009. I took a box cutter, looked into the contents, realized they truly were unneeded (as if 6 year wasn't enough to find this tidbit) and put both boxes into the trash.
Heard a white female VP running off at the mouth earlier this week. She must have forgotten that I was on the other side of the cubicle from her admin. In regards to Al Sharpton, she commented: "Oh damn! Sharpton's coming now. He's gonna make THEM worse." She said more but it was not incendiary enough for me to unleash on her ass.
Have I mentioned that the white folks ain't have nothing at all to say until this week? They did run off at the mouth in my daughter's school though. She texted me, during one of her classes, and said that she was getting pissed because the substitue was just letting them run off at the mouth. I told her to chill. And not worry about trying to educate any of them since it's not her responsibility to hep them remove their suburban veils of privilege.
#5: THERE ARE TOO MANY MORE NAMES TO LIST. I love this adopted city of mine. I ain't no Batman but there's someting more for me to do here. So, I'm gonna start something. I already help my lady who runs an afterschool program for 4th and 5th grade girls, at an elem school that is right there near Mondawmin, but I feel I need to do something else. I dunno.., Maybe organize some people to adopt a school where we volunteer time and resources and show these kids that WE care.

and immediately went to The Baltimore Sun to follow as best I could.
I'm happy charges have been pressed and warrants issued for arrests. The case seems very tight based on what I've read thus far. It seemingly removes any ambiguity.

street and there was a different energy in the air. i heard people talking about the cops getting charged and more than 1 person said that was justice.
we all know it aint over. not with this case. not with the conditions in america. but this is a good first step. and people feel it.

6. "just wait, in a minute he'll be 9 yrs old cooking you dinner. " In response to Reply # 5
at least that's how mine is now.
I can't cook a meal these days w/out him wanting to help or take over. Now I just sit at the dining room table (which looks into our kitchen) and walk him through the steps to prepare our meals.
14. "I wish...but he wants to be an aeronautical engineer. He was" In response to Reply # 11
hoping to be able to go to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL this year but he wasn't old enough---so instead I guess that's where my $1000 will be going towards for a week next summer.

Alright - To Pimp A Butterfly: at the crib, fully focused on keeping my daughter on the potty. She's been doing great. In real panties, no pull-ups for the second day. No accidents.
Don't Believe the Hype - ITANOMTHUB: I'm happy that the police officers are being charged. I find it quite ironic that the police officer supporters are screaming for a change of venue because of The Black Prosecutor, The Black Mayor and the Black Jury pool. Another Dave Chappelle Show skit has come to life. But unfortunately, I think that the police officers will get it.
Momma - To Pimp A Butterfly: today is my Other Mother's birthday. Love that woman. She may not have given birth to me, but she has always tried her best to treat me like her own. And she's done an ok job.
Sending my love - Charity Starts at Home: this album gets a lot of airplay in Spud (my Cube). The hubby is tired of meetings. I would be too if I was averaging 9-11 meetings a day and I still had to get actual work done. I think he's seriously considering quitting but he doesn't want to take another sidestep. I pray that the right job falls in his lap.
Move Love - Black Radio: I'm hoping that I can have a date night with the hubby tonight. I want to go see the Avengers. He's been working so hard that we haven't had a date night in over a month.
"We don't make mistakes, we just have happy little accidents" - Bob Ross
"I'm wearing a MSU Tshirt because I went to MSU, you are wearing a UM Tshirt because you went to Walmart!" -unknown.
02. we're having a healthy eating/exercise competition and a certain person is in 1st place after two weeks. I intend to keep this lead until the contest ends next month. #theyneedtoknow
