"Ever been a time when Carmelo Anthony thought about his team?"

Like 1 example out of all his years as an NBA player?

Hopefully we can trade Melo in the offseason because I think I done had enough with him.

These past 2 seasons I've been patient, but I don't like what I'm seeing from Melo. He has such a narrow view when it comes to basketball. And you just can't build around that. During these years he's suppose to be hungry and I just don't get that from him. I can just imagine what Melo will be like when he gets up there in age.

With Melo's max contract, it's a smart investment for the Knicks organization/Dolan (profit) but Knicks fans are getting robbed.

I always big upped Ewing even when he missed big shots in the playoffs. I was never those few who dogged him. Ewing was a great example of a team player. Ewing was main reason Knicks were competitive. He motivated team members. He made us stronger on offense and defesne. Melo on the other hand is stat-padding, growing his brand, and picking up a check at this point. Nothing about Melo says team. With Melo, Knicks are not competing for a Championship. It's better to face it now.

It's the talent around him.

Same thing with Ewing. He was expected to win a championship with John Starks as the 2nd best player and took a lot of criticism for not doing so.

I'm not blaming him for that.

Even though Knicks don't have necessary talent, one could still analyze and see Melo is not a team player.

Just going by yesterday, why was Melo playing while injured yesterday? How is that thinking of your team? He'll sacrifice for his brand/pockets but when does he ever sacrifice for the team? Like taking reasonable pay cut? Playing defense? Making teammates better? Recruiting players? Being a leader? Improving his game to the next level?

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Playing defense? He tries. It irritates me when fans act like defense is simply a choice that players decide to be good at or not, like it's not a skill or talent. He's not nearly as bad as he's made out to be either.

Making
>teammates better? What does this even mean? JR Smith had the best season of his life in 2013. Did Melo make him better?

Recruiting players? Umm, the Knicks had no room to sign anyone that matters in the past 4 years. He supposed to GM too?

Being a leader? What does this even mean? FOH with that Disney sports movie bullshit, these are grown ass men. Be a leader by doing your fucking job. He does that.

>Improving his game to the next level? He probably had his best back to back seasons of his career in 2013 and 2014.

I'm saying u r being VERY naive, homie....

And what u think Phil is doing?....lol....he has already cleaned house. The only player u guys have that is worth a damn is Melo....Bargnani is on his way out too...

Let me talk u down off the ledge, homie...

1. Melo played because the All Star game was at MSG....
2. Even I know that Melo has had trouble playing an entire week. One game is not the problem...It's the back to backs that force him to sit down because of those nagging injuries....
3. Be thankful that the Knicks brass are forcing Melo to shut it down. Because he has been fighting them over the shutdown. In fact, they wanted Anthony to shut it down a month ago...But he refused because he wanted to be on the floor for his team....
4. U will get a good draft pick. Chill out and be reasonable, dog....

So last year when he averaged 27 and 8? The poor season was his fault?

He has literally been the only NY Knick player who has done his job and played like expected the last 2 seasons.

Last year Felton was fat and horrible, Chandler was healthy and playing hard once a week on average, JR Smith was awful, Shumpert underperformed(to be fair, coming off an injury).

This year they are tanking and have surrounded him with quite possibly the worst basketball team of all time....and he has still played hard and well, while playing hurt.

I don't care about that the Knicks are 10-43. I want to go into the offseason and feel like Knicks can compete for a ring in 2015-16 and I just can't do that with Melo.

Yall keep saying Knicks don't have talent surrounding Melo. Will that ever happen with his enormous max contract? Don't expect Knicks to have 2 other all-stars on the roster to help out. Knicks will get a top draft pick but that's not a guarantee to make us competitive.

So getting rid of the only good player makes you feel better about competing for a ring IN 2015-16??? LOL. Short of signing Lebron and Durant, there is no scenario where the Knicks compete for a ring in 2015-16, no matter what.

Other teams have figured out how to put talent around their max contract guys. Make the right draft pick and spend money on FA's wisely(not like they did with Amare).

Knicks spent a lot of money on Melo, Amare, and Chandler.....and you're blaming the only one of those 3 who played up to his contract.

i been a Knick fan almost all my life. other than Melo, this is the least amount of talent that we've ever had on the team since maybe the Stephon Marbury years. even that team was better than this.

i feel like everyone wants him to be LeBron when that's not even close to his game. all this talk about "he needs to make his teammates better" is kinda silly after a while. there's like a couple guys in the league who can't truly do that. Melo is not a point guard. he's not going to magically start dropping 10 assists a game.

Give him a team and he'll ball
Wasn't his fault that Tyson Chandler got butt-fucked by Roy Hibbert in the playoffs
Wasn't his fault that the ENTIRE backcourt played like absolute shit last year

Dude wanted to play in the MSG all star game. First time it's been there in 17 years. Doctors say no further damage can be done if he played on the knee. He WANTED to play in the Orlando game before the break and the team said no. He WANTED to play against GS but the TEAM said no

THIS is why other stars DON'T want to play in NY, because of fans/media like this...no matter what a star does, he's wrong and people rip him. Cats talking about he ain't a leader and all that, when the 2nd best player on his team right today is LANGSTON GALLOWAY. Before it was JR Smith (he's the 4th best player on Cleveland, which is about right)

Melo's dat dude...leave him be

The fact of the matter is he is playing with bums and you can only elevate them so much.

The added bonus of Melo is that everyone seems to like him and he can maybe even lure a top talent to come to NYC to play with him.

nah i can't take you seriously?

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Dude is just about scoring points, and nothing much else. The type of players that losing teams can brag about having (like Mitch Richmond).
