I'll probably get a beanie, the embroidered logo hats are cool but I would've preferred a flexfit over a snapback, just my $0.02...

most tees are only 18 pieces (in each color, total 36)

hats, 18 pieces (9 for each color)

probably won't remake most of this stuff

i said i think a lot of the shit is cool, but *I* am not gonna pay those prices at this stage of my life. others will and that is totally fine, i'm not telling others how to spend their dough. i got a kid, yo. his expenses trump everything and every purchase made in this household has to rational, thought out and responsible. if i were a younger man with no children i'd consider coppin' some of the gear cause i genuinely like it, especially with a sale going on.

>keep it coming

a few questions you guys may want to address internally:

-why (when the roots are on the marquee of the biggest institution in late night tv; and at their all-time high in terms of "visibility") is the site failing to convert any "new" fans to new sign-ups?

-why are so many of the daily visitors opting to stop posting here?

-why has questlove all but washed his hands of the site with the exception of outsourcing his job duties?

(this one is easy -- obviously the people who post here and the discussions they foster are not worth his time in comparison to the celebrities and other high social value people he can interact with on twitter.)

and lastly, moderation...

we had a 200+ reply post yesterday (which conveniently appears to have been "moderated") where rjcc and cyrenyoung essentially thumbed their noses at everyone questioning why the rules they so stringently enforce don't apply to them.

make a poll asking if people would like rjcc/cyrenyoung removed from admin/moderator positions and the results will speak for them self.

message boards live and they all eventually die.
this one is definitely in the 1 percentile in terms of longevity.

however, when there is a massive outpouring of dissent against heavy-moderation that usually signals the bottom of the 9th inning with any forum.

a few months later and it's a ghost town of old posts and spammers.

wish you guys the best.
i've dedicated a significant portion of the last few years here.

by the site, are you referring to the message boards? we have all sorts of new sign-ups on the site (www.okayplayer.com) and social media:

http://facebook.com/okayplayer,
http://twitter.com/okayplayer
http://instagram.com/okayplayer
http://youtube.com/okayplayer

do YOU like/follow/subscribe to any of those? it's possible we have different ideas of what the site is, and where sign-ups occur, or what it means to fail?

>-why are so many of the daily visitors opting to stop posting
>here?

perhaps the experience is a bit antiquated for them, I don't know, could be for many reasons

>-why has questlove all but washed his hands of the site with

>
>(this one is easy -- obviously the people who post here and

honestly I think you are looking too deep into it. he's busy, his life has evolved, its not a celebrity friends thing, just not enough hours in the day

every time I pop in these forums i hear that same sentiment about those two, but i don't really understand the context of each. those guys will defend their position as well. who's right? i honestly don't know. i just don't personally have enough information. i would need real examples. what exactly was moderated and by whom and with what argument?

i do seem to hear that a lot. is there some sort of line drawn, two sides?

appreciate the support

other shit sometimes, but they have been working, for free, for years, on this.

let some of these other cats be mod for a week and have the rest of the official ones ease out the picture for a minute and see how much appreciation they'd have.

first page would be full of #### poasts.

peace & blessings,

But I'm also sad at the prices... if you up that 15% off to 30%, now we're talking lolol.
I love the 5 panel/snapbacks.. and the RBG OKP shirt. Moar RBG!

The following are probably more realistic in terms of producing the product:

I think it'll be cool if The Roots/Okayplayer had wristbands. Lot's of people love wristbands... It sucks seeing these teens ouchea with their favorite bands and I can't show off mine

Are y'all gonna bring that "Legendary" fleece blanket back??

How about the Legendary hoodies? Any hoodies with The Roots on it would be dope, especially with the "Legendary" tee shirt design on it.

A shirt that lists the band on it would be dope.. them Helvectia (sp) shirts or whatever

Bring back the laptop skins in different sizes, and iPhone/general smartphone cases

That Questlove necklace was dope too (y'all also had Fela, loved it)

Okayplayer kufi's, rasta hats, head wraps, and dashikis lmao

Thanks OKP!

...odd "to me"... definitely not saying one method is better than the other... i honestly, hadn't seen it done that way... so it was "odd" to me...

34. "well the product details vary"
In response to Reply # 33

for instance, these hats are more "standard issue"

http://shop.okayplayer.com/collections/okayplayer/products/okayplayer-camper-white-logo

where these are custom billed (we made them)

http://shop.okayplayer.com/collections/okayplayer/products/kente-cloth-brim-snapback

so the price varies even though they are the same hat.

i can understand how this appears odd. I should look into this. the hats aren't really selling that well so far... perhaps they are out of season. we didn't make that many (no more than 18 per) so they will all eventually sell.

However I ain't worn a actual sweatshirt since I was a little kid. I'd like that better as a t-shirt. No way in hell i'm wearing a sweatshirt. I'm bourguie.

I dropped some coin earlier off the strength of this anchor.

Is there anyway to add a brandywine heather version of the okayplayer logo shirts? Everything on the store looks great.

Ok. I was close to going for the gray, but then I decided in the spirit of the holiday and clothing item, a color would be more appropriate.

How's the fit? Runs big, small, etc. Thanks.

the gray is cool, but a little light. the red or green would make the design stand out better. even a darker gray would be better, but it's still cool.
