I don’t know if he could fight but his name was Tuffy... and he was from the hood

What were some nicknames of people back home that were good/bad/hilarious

We share a birthday, minus 15 years.
He's from the hood, and was that dude.
Changed his life before getting too caught up, now he's doing his thing.
His 5 sons (the ones he claims) are named after him, similar to George Foreman.
Three of them have variation nicknames...Tuffy, Tuffer & Tuffest.

Puppet/Lil Puppet, Flaco/Flaca, La Shygirl, Casper, etc.

Listening to Art Laboe dedications were basically a role call of 100 people at a time. Shit was confusing.

Oh Flaca told ShyGirl don't let no one get her down?

Well goddamn it how are we supposed to know who is who? And didn't Flaca JUST tell ShyGirl last week to smile now, cry later?

Which Flaca? Which Shygirl? And why is no one recommending counseling? ShyGirl seems like she's really going through it.

There's like 10 of each in every town in So Cal.

although, I always thought it would be spelled out as Toughy. He had a twin sister (she was FINE). First boy and girl twins I'd ever met. They were 4 grades above me...in the same grade as my big sisters, who are identical twins. Their real names were like Marlon and Marla, but people only called them Tuffy and Pinky (they were light-skinned). It was cool that they were tight with my sisters, because Tuffy was damn tough. Seen him dust many kids. That was a nice connect to have.

...I'm from the era when A.I. was the answer, now they think ai is the answer - Marlon Craft

'Church Boy" - was a nigga that just moved to the neighborhood and came to the basketball court with some dress socks on with his kicks and hooping gear. We were picking teams and I was like 'gimme church boy'. He went from Church boy to just 'Church' lol.

'Turbo" - was a boney ass nigga with them circle bifocal glasses. Him and his brothers moved from Flint Michigan to Bmore. I thought he looked like a robot, like the robot from Short Circuit. His name was Termaine, but I called him Turbo. Sad shit though, they moved back to MI and his twin was involved in some gang shit. Niggas shot the house up looking for the brother, ended up killing Turbo.

"Frankie Beverly" - nigga named Frankie. He ended up shortening the shit and had niggas calling him "Bevs"

I had a boy that everyone called "Friends" bc he went to Friends School in Baltimore and had all the Friends gear on everytime he came to the court. From the headband to the socks.

back in the 70's.

Said he was like a stereotypical bully, Deebo type. 6'4, 320 solid. Always on some kinda drug.

One day, he was high on PCP, and he was telling folks how strong he was. Someone said "I bet you can't lift that Pinto!" and he swore he could. He went up to the Pinto.......and lifted the entire front end of it up, and held it for five seconds before slamming it back down. Everyone was completely amazed.

Ten seconds later, he died from a heart attack. R.I.P. Mr. Monster.

My hood (Southside Chicago) nicknames were hilarious.

Bobo - Live next door. Wild athletic cat
Nado (pronounced Nah-doe) - older kid on the block that was always into something. Got involved in the game and got sent to prison
Slack - resident bully. I hated this dude
Honeyman - He had some developmental issues, but was strong as an Ox.

Big Buck & Lil Buck - Lived a block over, but were legendary break dancers. I sat in awe watching them perform windmills.

Buster - he was a little special. I was shocked to see him driving a car.

Mush - white kid who was a deceptive 3 point shooter. He had a big ass head tho. Shaped like a mushroom.
