it's doing something arduous and
creating something of value and then
being able to reflect on the fruits of your labor

It took closer to 6 weeks to grow a SCOBY from scratch but it really worked. My SCOBY is around 3 inches thick right now. I just used unflavored Synergy tea for my starter.

Once the SCOBY was ready I brewed a new batch of tea for drinking. I bottled my first batch last weekend so im going to try it right away.

For tea I used a mix of black tea and berry tea from Davids Tea. I followed the 3:1 ratio of tea to starter tea.

I might have to do some tweaking to the amount of time I brew before bottling. Now that I have a healthy SCOBY I can play around a bit to get it perfect.
